Another simple subwoofer install with pics

If it's already 2 Ohms then you're doing the right thing. I ran both without power and there was a very small amount going to the external sub, but it was negligible and could barely hear it. I'm not an electrical engineer so my answers are probably extra wrong.

Another simple subwoofer install with pics

Yes, parallel. I believe it changes the ohms to 2 from 4, so less resistance which may drive the rear sub a little too much. I found it would be too explosive unless you turn-up the powered add-on sub by itself which seems to be able to handle the 2 ohms and I set the resistance to high. It...

Another simple subwoofer install with pics

The smaller 8" JBL was sounding fairly clippy and lousy when I put it behind the rear seats. I angled it at 90 degrees and it was better but not great. I played with the phase and "boost" of 35db and it was still boom-y and distorted somehow. I spent a month adjusting very slightly back and...

Another simple subwoofer install with pics

I installed in-parallel as per instructions. I think I'm at 2 Ohms now instead of 4 so the stock one "pops" sometimes. I took me about a month to dial-in balance and EQ to get it rounded-out. Sirius XM native App transmits different EQ settings for each song and each channel so dialing-in the...

Lucid Air's Number One Software Issue?

"Fla-Key FOB". Honestly, I think it might be the freq. interference and battery drain. Normally it's 315 MHz for most cars. Tesla is 6 GHz, just outside of the current 5 GHz freq. making interference less of an issue (for now) except some areas are experimenting with 6 GHz like in subway...

Lucid Air's Number One Software Issue?

Sometimes I wonder if it's 2.4 GHz interference or phone-handshake sweep issues? Interestingly, my Android (Pixel 9 Pro XL) opens the car if I have BT turned-on anywhere in my house and the car is in the garage (carriage house for the hoity-toity silver-top owners). The key fob opens it...

    Update 2.6.16

Interestingly, I've lost efficiency based on my driving style by about 1 kwh/m from 4.10 to 3.10. This could be a more accurate reading, however as I'm under 15k miles. These are all new problems with the latest software I've found. My guess is the code is crashing internally somewhere, or...

Lucid Air's Number One Software Issue?

In my profession, phones are not allowed near facilities I work at, so I have to remember to turn off BT on my Android before leaving or the car stays on and running for quite a bit. It will shut-off after about 15 minutes as stated in the manual. I find the card-key to be beneficial here...

Lucid Air's Number One Software Issue?

If you value security (some do) I'd be cautious with what CarLinkIt installs on your Android device. I've held-off and just use BT audio for Waze+Music for now... Just a heads-up.

[RESOLVED BY OTA 2.7.0] Car won’t go into DRIVE !

I've noticed delayed "Ready" state since the last software update (along with twitchy Adaptive Cruise phantom-braking). Would not go into gear. Performed my weekly Air-Logo software update and it seems to have fixed the former issue for now. Not sure why the Adaptive Cruise is now "jerky"...

Tired of lack of Android support

I understand your frustration. I've been in the Polestar 2. I found handling, acceleration, driver feedback, steering feel, all to be lacking. Nav system was not impressive to me. You should try it out first. The Tesla Model S Plaid was probably the 2nd worst car I've ever driven next to a...

Tired of lack of Android support

Back about 10 years ago we used maps or memorized our route. I used to be a pizza-delivery kid in the 1980's. We'd have to mentally plan our routes from a map on the wall. After that in the 1990's, I'd look at MapQuest. Some folks would print-out the instructions if they had goldfish memory...

    OTA Update 2.6.16

I've noticed the Adaptive Cruise is more erratic now, decelerating 2 mph randomly every 5 minutes or so in a straight line, then re-accelerating. It reminds me of the "phantom braking" Tesla owners have, the invisible obstacle. It was not doing this before-hand, at least for me until the...

Tired of lack of Android support

It's my opinion a car needs no infotainment system whatsoever; it's just gravy. Check out the infotainment system on a 2006 Lotus Elise for instance. The Air drives well. Mine has 1111Hp and can accomplish 0.92 (or greater) lateral g's on the standard skid-pad. Acceleration is impressive...

    Update 2.6.16

My update is taking significantly longer. I'm at 1 hour and at 15%. Check my connection with Ookla and I'm at 1451 Mbps. Sadly, no much-needed 5-band EQ on this one. Shucks.

    Next update?

I've had good luck performing a soft reboot after OTA updates complete by holding the AIR logo in "About" on the Pilot Panel. I do this an hour later. I also have had good luck performing this soft reboot every Sunday morning. I find if I do not, Sirius XM tends to get glitchy for some reason...
