    Bike Mounts and Crossbars

Bike transport is a huge deal for me. I would greatly prefer a tow hitch rack, but a roof rack that doesn't damage the car is a good alternative. The fact that Lucid roof racks have damaged the car is very concerning, and a "deal breaker" (man I hate that term, and yes it works here) for me. I...

    Charging curve logs post 2.1.52

If I did the math right, you are reporting 77.5% of EPA range when traveling at highway speeds. That sounds reasonable. That means the 100% to 0% range on the highway would be 400 miles, at the speeds you drive, and assuming your battery has 100% SoH.

    Charging curve logs post 2.1.52

If this is correct, there should be members here with 1-2 year old Airs with significant mileage that are reporting measurably lower range on the GOM. Do we? A 2-year-old BEV with 8-10% less range would be normal, so there should be owners with GOMs showing around 8% less range when compared...

    Charging curve logs post 2.1.52

Has it been shown that the GOM includes the impact of HVB state of health? In some cars, the GOM just defaults to the EPA range, with maybe adverse climate impacts included (like cold temperatures). Do we have proof of coloration between actual capacity and what is shown on the display (the GOM)?

Impressions of my first long road trip

I agree with you. It will be hard for most people to accept the limitations. We are early adopters, but those who are not, will not be happy. Like my wife. I guess my main point is there is a need for better information about highway range before people purchase. I have heard many ideas...

Impressions of my first long road trip

In my area of the country, highway driving at around 80 is faster than a lot of the traffic, but also slower than a good number of people. I cruise at 79 and get passed regularly. It is very frustrating when there is such a huge disparity between the EPA range and the true highway range of a...

Lucid Motors is stuck in a fight over the name of its Gravity SUV

Personally, I don't care what they call it. I just want to see two things: 1. A vehicle I actually want to purchase (so far, it is), and 2. A vehicle that allows Lucid to turn a profit, so they survive as a car company. Neither one depends on the name of the vehicle.

Energy limited due to cold battery

This is true but you should avoid L2 (or L1) charging a frozen battery. Preconditioning a very cold battery prior to any charging is a good idea IMO.

Finding a working charging station, a nightmare!

As of January 2024, public charging sucks. Because so many people are getting BEVs, I cannot see it getting any better before it gets worse. Unfortunately, This is why a long range car is critical. This is why Lucid is at the top of my list to replace my Mach-e. The longer you can drive...

    FEATURE 2024 Wishlist Survey

If regen is limited due to a cold battery or a full battery, they should increase brake blending so that to the user there is no percepible difference when using 1PD. That's how the Mach-e works. I am surprised Lucid has not taken the same approach. No warning is needed and no safety issue...

    First Road Trip Range Readings

I live in Williamsburg and that's true. Except EVgo just installed a couple DCFC chargers at the Target on Monticello. I have not used them (no need, of course) so I don't know the speed. Hopefully because they are new the speed is good. DM me if you want restaurant recommendations.

    FEATURE 2024 Wishlist Survey

Will a mountain bike fit in the back without removing a wheel? I looked for a Weathertech cover that would protect the entire surface with the rear seats down, but didn't see an option for that. Dirt falling off my bike into the rear seats of my $100k car isn't very appealing. Anyway, if that...

    FEATURE 2024 Wishlist Survey

The biggest feature that is causing me pause is the lack of a hitch receiver so I can mount my bike rack. The roof mount option seems to have a lot of issues, and I greatly prefer a hitch option anyway. While I know "Air" is part of the differentiation of the product, I am not a fan of glass...

    Trailer Hitch for Air

Resurrecting this thread. Did the hitch get made, and is it available to purchase? Did the hitch cause any issues? Edit: I checked the U-Haul website, and it isn't there. Still, isn't anyone in the Tempe area interested in mounting a bike on a hitch bike rack instead of messing up the roof?

    Vampire Drain Analysis

That is partly true. I have recived quite a lot of OTA updates since I purchased my car. And while right now Ford is still finalizing their official API, unofficially people are able to connect to their cars and get a ton of data from it. I can lock/unlock my car remotely, or start it remotely...

    Vampire Drain Analysis

Most people don't even know it can be an issue to look out for. I think the normal person assumes the battery will stay fully charged unless they drive the vehicle. My car uses the LVB to handle walk up unlocking, PaaK and other features. It is something the legacy car companies got right, IMO...

    Vampire Drain Analysis

My Mustang Mach-e has zero vampire drain also. I think all of the legacy car makers are similar in this respect. It is the start ups that seem to have a problem with it. From what I have read, Tesla has always had it but they have managed to make significant improvements over the years.
