For me it was correlated. I got the message several times, but not every time. About 2-3 weeks later the battery was dead.

I never saw it say low battery. But it did say it could not detect my key fob. Since it was in my pocket I took that to mean that the battery was low.

I think I'll just buy a remote control and be done with it.

Oddly, SiriusXM came back to life today. Does Sirius require a cell phone link? If so that might have been the problem. I returned from a flight, but forgot to take my phone off Airplane mode. But with the email saying my membership expired I'm probably living on borrowed time.
