Future EV's from Car and Driver- Interesting read

Just read this Friday night. The biggest thing that stood out to me is the near complete lack of vehicles with range over 400 miles and cost under $200k. There was really only one- Gravity. 🤔 https://www.caranddriver.com/news/g29994375/future-electric-cars-trucks/

Selling advice requested please (not Lucid specific)

Folks, forgive me for asking a non-Lucid question here. I have a question about selling. My father recently passed away and my mother has asked me to try to sell his car(s). Right now, I'm trying to sell my father's 2006 BMW M3 convertible. Prior to getting my Lucid, I've never had a *nice*...

Best way to quantify loss of usable battery?

I posted something similar previously but am now asking for feedback from the group on this subject particularly from those who have driven EVs for many years and those who have ties to Lucid. What is the best way to determine loss of usable battery accurately? The only information I have is...

Discrepancy between % battery remaining and kW used

I've noticed lately that my % battery remaining does not align with kW used on the pilot panel. As an example, I was charged to 100% when I started this trip. After a couple hundred miles, I was showing 16% battery remaining but had only used 68 kW. If I had actually used 84% of the battery...

    Charging in the winter

Good morning! Does anyone have a good solution to cover the end of the charging cable and charging port when charging outside overnight in the winter? My charge port door was frozen open this morning because of the snow and ice that fell overnight last night. It wasn't too bad and I was able...

Experimenting with heat and defrost effect on energy consumption

Since I woke up to snow on the ground for the first time this morning, I decided to experiment with the climate and defrost functions so I could use the information for future planning. For reference, I park outside and will all winter unfortunately. I also live outside of Buffalo so we will...

    Navigation on pilot panel

This is a weird question and I apologize if it was discussed previously. I searched but couldn't find it. When selecting the Nav icon on the cockpit display, why does the nav sometimes load on the pilot panel and other times only load on the cockpit display?

RESOLVED Warranty service for those of us who don't live anywhere near a service center

I'd like to clarify this question and situation to avoid a lot of back and forth between members. First, this only applies to people who live 4+ hours from the closest service center. Those who live closer are in a very different position and this doesn't apply to you. Second, I'm only asking...

Have you looked at the DCFC prices?

Up until today, the only prices I saw were EA prices. By me, they are charging $0.49/kWh (for plan members) which I consider to be pretty high and not that much less expensive than regular unleaded gasoline in terms of the cost/mile driven. But on the NYS thruway, at the new Applegreen DCFC...

    Annual fee for owning EVs?

I'm guessing some of us have already had to deal with this. But, seriously?? Come on! https://www.politico.com/news/2023/08/17/punitive-texas-other-states-roadblocks-ev-transition-00110125

    BUG Unreliable speed limit displayed

My car regularly displays the wrong speed limit on the dash. Often it won't pick up a sign and change when it should. And I get that. A little frustrating but really NBD. But yesterday and today, it has displayed Speed Limit 75 at times and there's not one sign on these roads that has ever...

    Everyone take a deep breath

I am reading a lot of the threads here tonight and reading a bunch of argumentative comments from members and mods on various subjects like the DDP change and opinions on bricked cars. Can't we all just get along?

RESOLVED Drive system fault - BRICKED

Well shit. Called customer care. Very disappointed and frustrated. This means a 7 hour tow trip to Natick (tomorrow because they are closed today) and being without the car for who knows how long. Any thoughts?

    Rubber grommets in frunk?

Good morning all. Just a silly question that someone here probably knows the answer to. Inside the frunk, there are a bunch of rubber grommets in the carpeting. They appear to be spaced out throughout the frunk. I'm curious if anyone knows their function(s). They could be simply to hold the...

RESOLVED Is the Lidar blocked message related to ceramic coating?? [answer: no]

I never got the message in any kind of precipitation (except heavy snow) before today. But when I picked up my car from getting ceramic done, in the lightest rain, I'm getting the message now. Trying to figure out if these are related.

Anyone else doing high mileage on their Air?

I realize that some of you were skeptical of some of my questions and concerns about the Air due to my intended use. And some are probably sick of me mentioning how much I drive lol. But just to verify, I got the car 5 weeks ago and 9 days of that, it was in the shop. 2500 miles later with...

How important is battery preconditioning in the summer?

I know that preconditioning warms up the battery in Colder Weather so that it can accept a charge at a higher rate of speed. Does it actually do anything if the battery is already warm due to the weather? I guess I don't know what temperature the battery is supposed to be at for optimal energy...
