7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

I understand we're still waiting for guidance from the Treasury Department, but my understanding is there is no way a Lucid will qualify for the tax credit if the purchase occurs after 12/31/2022 because the price is over the cap. Maybe I misunderstood though.

Poll: Lucid Air Touring/Pure Reservation Holders, if the new EV tax bill passes, would you reconsider your reservation?

Correct. Washington State charges an extra annual fee for EV owners. The intention is to offset foregone gas tax revenue.

Poll: Lucid Air Touring/Pure Reservation Holders, if the new EV tax bill passes, would you reconsider your reservation?

Definitely no. WA has a very narrow and limited sales tax exception for EVs. If the sales price is below $45,000 then the first $20,000 is exempt from sales tax. If the sales price is above $45,000 the entire purchase is subject to sales tax...

    Reservation Cancellations feedback

Now I'm a little worried... When you say "If I were you, I wouldn't wait" are you concerned Lucid is having liquidity problems and won't be able to refund my deposit if I wait?

Poll: Lucid Air Touring/Pure Reservation Holders, if the new EV tax bill passes, would you reconsider your reservation?

Hey can we keep in touch? I think your best case scenario is a possibility and I want to see how it plays out for you. Or are you thinking Lucid won't be able to get the car delivered by 12/31? Wow, Florida has a low sales tax rate!!! Over 10% where I live in Washington State.

    Reservation Cancellations feedback

When I reserved the car in early May, the projected delivery was 3Q2022. It's not Lucid's fault the tax credit is ending. But it is Lucid's fault the car wasn't delivered. I have nothing to lose so I'm gonna keep my deposit open in the 1% chance Lucid will be so desperate for a sale that they...

Poll: Lucid Air Touring/Pure Reservation Holders, if the new EV tax bill passes, would you reconsider your reservation?

I changed my strategy and decided to keep my deposit/reservation active. Maybe there is a chance I can still get a Pure for $69,900.

    Reservation Cancellations feedback

I have a reservation for a Pure at a price of $77,400. I am reasonably certain the car will not be built/purchased by 12/31/2022. If I get a call or email from Lucid in, say, May of 2023 I will tell them I will only consider purchasing the vehicle if they reduce the price to $69,900. I know...

    Air Pure reservations

Earlier I wanted to cancel my Pure reservation and get my $300 back but I think I'll hold off a little bit. If there is any chance Lucid can deliver the Pure by 12/31/2022 I would still get the $7,500 tax credit, right?

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

Help me out I'm still a little confused. I thought the only thing that changed for August 16, 2022 to December 31, 2022 was the requirement for the vehicle to be assembled in the U.S. to qualify for the tax credit. I thought the vehicle price cap and income limitation don't go into effect...

Poll: Lucid Air Touring/Pure Reservation Holders, if the new EV tax bill passes, would you reconsider your reservation?

I've decided to cancel my Pure reservation. I didn't see a way to request a refund on the website. I sent a message to Lucid but that seems like a clunky way to ask for a refund. Does anyone know if there is a way to request a refund over the internet?

Poll: Lucid Air Touring/Pure Reservation Holders, if the new EV tax bill passes, would you reconsider your reservation?

Thank you. Yes. My understanding is my reservation is refundable. I'm also wondering if it is transferable. If someone else can take advantage of the lower price I would be open to transferring it - but they'd have to find some way of giving me the $300 back.

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

I'm not a lawyer and this could likely come down to state contract law (which varies state by state.) But in general I think Steve is correct. If the only penalty for failure to complete is forfeiture of deposit then I'm pretty sure it is not a binding purchase contract. A non-refundable...

Poll: Lucid Air Touring/Pure Reservation Holders, if the new EV tax bill passes, would you reconsider your reservation?

I have a reservation for a Pure. I made the reservation back in June for the $77,400 price before tax credit. I only paid $300 at the time of reservation. Even with the $7,500 tax credit the price of the Pure was a bit of a reach at $69,900 net. I live in Washington state with a sales tax...

    Seattle Area

I agree. I attended the Seattle grand opening. Don't worry if you missed it - nothing special. There was free coffee, and that's about it. No T-shirts or hats for the grand opening. That being said, I was impressed. There were plenty of employees on hand and they were well trained and...

    Seattle Area

Hello I just found this thread! I live in West Seattle and I have a deposit for the Air Pure (so I'm way down on the list.) Comments: 1. I *was* invited to the Saturday 6/25 event at University Village. But I think that's open to the public anyway. My email invitation came from Zaid...

Definitely not. GVWR is always greater than vehicle weight. GVWR is the sum of vehicle weight plus vehicle capacity.

US EV Registrations - 41% in CA

I live in Washington State. We often compare ourselves to California, even though we have a far smaller population. Good or bad, CA provides a more generous incentive for buying an EV. I believe there is a CA state incentive to purchase an EV. And I know that certain EVs can use carpool...

    Air Pure reservations

Hello! First time posting. I placed a deposit on the Pure in May 2022 before the price increase. I actually don't need or want a car for a couple more years. I only placed a deposit for the decreased price. Is there a chance I'll get until, say, beginning of 2024 to decide to purchase the...
