    Lucid Motors in Canada

Unfortunately EVs have been “politicized” - so what you’re saying is very much an unrealistic expectation on modern day drivers for cars. Every OEM has this crap at the top of their mind and enthusiasts as well. As a note, I have 0 empathy for anyone who comes out and supports this stuff at...

    Lucid Motors in Canada

I think most of us can agree that what’s happening with tariffs is not agreeable, smart, and will have long term negative repercussions. It’s sad how near impossible it is to talk about world impact events without mentioning Trump - which is likely intentional. Everything government tied today...

    Lucid Motors in Canada

This is assuming the public outroar wasn’t the goal. There’s a lot to be said about how certain historical figures went about triggering events in society. It’s a debate on how advanced the mindset is behind these childish fronts. Thankfully I’m pretty confident it’s not advanced and these...

    New IOS Mobile App 2.0

Rebooted my phone, crashes stopped. Today battery usage is down from 8-5% for the last 24 hours. This issue is definitely the root cause of some major battery drain spikes.

    New IOS Mobile App 2.0

My battery usage with the new app was perfectly fine until the background crashes started in vehicle. I imagine relaunching is killing battery.

    New IOS Mobile App 2.0

In case engineers are lurking, iPhone 16 Pro Max 18.2 App v2.0.0 Follow up repro crashes happened just on the splash screen hang. I am driving in my car, reproducing the crashes with only the mobile key on deck.

    New IOS Mobile App 2.0

After noticing the crashes I’m also seeing a spike and battery usage. The Lucid app is up to 8% which is pretty significant. It’s possible that it’s constantly trying to launch itself us re-launching things like Bluetooth and network snacks draining battery. No key detected is probably...

    New IOS Mobile App 2.0

I’d be very surprised if they weren’t storing the key in keychain. It’s honestly a bit of a pet peeve when people say to uninstall and reinstall an application for a situation like this. On iOS, it’s rarely a resolve for the issue and would indicate a big problem in the app. The only and I mean...

    New IOS Mobile App 2.0

Force killing is just one way to bring the message up. Anything that basically kills the core bluetooth manager’s connection (example being the app crashing in the background) can cause this issue. The app, phone and car all have roles here. I can’t recall if the Air uses iBeacon or not, but...

    New IOS Mobile App 2.0

Well, no. This absolutely has to do with the app as the app is responsible for running the bluetooth manager and handshaking with the mobile key… That is why you’ll see this message if you force kill the app.

    New IOS Mobile App 2.0

I would doubt the App rewrite and any form of “3.0” in the vehicle have a 1:1 relationship in any way. Although given the Gravity is now being delivered to employees, I’m sure something is on next year’s roadmap.

The whole app is car related unless you introduce monitization/commerce aspects… (or other domained products like solar)

    New IOS Mobile App 2.0

So you're now thinking like I am. The tab bar's usefulness confuses me. Account shouldn't be a tab and now we're toggling between a Map and a massive landing page. This is where I start to pick apart how the Home Screen is a dumping ground and the design language is inconsistent. Tabs and menus...

That’s any customer facing software team always. You should have seen the Reddit forums when the profile button was moved. “Who moved the cheese” is a more common phrase than it should be. Sometimes it’s for the best, sometimes it’s for a promotion and job justification..

I'm not going to lie, the swipe to back is chef kiss (finally). The bear ... I've never been fond of the logo over the company name. The tab bar is driving me bonkers visually and the fact it's bound to the home screen is just replacing my original annoyance with the inability to swipe back...

    New IOS Mobile App 2.0

This boils down to logically grouping and organizing functionality into discoverable domains. The Home Screen is no longer a one stop clearly defined area for a well defined set of vehicle features. It's now a landing ground for almost everything... That mindset starts deteriorating the core...

    New IOS Mobile App 2.0

To be clear, I'm not saying the new app is absolutely horrendous or bad in any way. More that the design language is a known mistake in the industry and I'm quite surprised they did that to themselves (both home screen dumping ground/complexity wise plus other issues they'll encounter). My...

I'm very aware of "what" those complaints are. Mostly around features that never worked that were removed tbf. It's never an easy decision to see something removed because the perception is you once had it and now you don't -- even if it never worked to begin with (In-App Trip Planning being one...

    New IOS Mobile App 2.0

It practically mimics the current design language of the MyNissan/Infiniti applications and VERY early concepts for the FordPass/LincolnWay 5.x projects. The MyNissan/Infiniti applications are absolute infants on usability in the worst of ways and this design language is something they...
