    2.0.24 Software Update

I also bought my Model 3 in 2018. I heard tons about cars delivered in rough shape — the car buying checklist was vital for Tesla buyers back then (that has not changed, BTW). I plunked down my deposit and hoped against all hope for a decent car. My car was delivered with minor cosmetic stuff...

    New OTA?

Like everyone else, got one software update Friday morning and the next Saturday morning. The description was pretty vague, but I’m looking forward to seeing what these changes have netted us!

    New OTA?

Got the update this morning. Installed it when I got home. No idea yet what is changed.

Lucid Air GT mini review from owner.

The older I get and the more miles I put in, I’ve come to believe that most folks are barely adequate to adequate drivers. Those of us on the road are just naturally not paying full attention to what we are doing at any given moment. We are literally driving on various levels of autopilot...

Lucid Air GT mini review from owner.

Can’t edit my post. But apparently “messaging” is different from “massaging.” Go figure!

Lucid Air GT mini review from owner.

I had to put in some highway miles today. It wasn’t a road trip. Just had to get somewhere and it would take 7-8 miles on crappy, congested (but moving for the most part) highways to get there. A modestly longer distance on the back half. The Air GT was a dream. The GT’s handling and...

In regard to the media contacting me about my earlier post about exec shuffling & change

The relative is probably concerned about keeping his job. Hard to blame him if he put the screws to Grnr!

    EVs with 600 mile range

Greater range makes sense given the poor state of charging infrastructure in the U.S. But given the fact that the materials that go into these batteries are not infinitely available, I wonder if the eventual upper limit on battery capacity will be about the availability of things like lithium...

In regard to the media contacting me about my earlier post about exec shuffling & change

Hey Grnr. Just because it is something folks are discussing in the Lucid cafeteria does not mean the information isn’t sensitive or its disclosure won’t drop your relative and his friends into a world of hurt. And there is at least one person on this board who turns our posts into the...

Not in Missouri, but within easy GT driving distance of Kansas City. Welcome to the fold, Woody!

    ChargePoint Home Flex

I want that Lucid 2-way charger as a home upgrade. But otherwise, I am using a ChargePoint charger that my state subsidized. It worked fine with my Tesla and seems to be equally fine with my GT. I bet you can’t go wrong with the default model your location is subsidizing. And free or almost...

    New OTA?

I have not seen anything. But if the OTA distribution is anything like Tesla, then it could be weeks before we all see it. As one of the folks not clamoring for Apple CarPlay (my Model 3 did not have it; don’t care one way or the other) or a ton of other software improvements, I admit being...

    Cell Phone Charger

I stand corrected. If you watch carefully and slowly feed the iPhone Max into the charger, then it will work. Still don’t love the positioning, but a more robust software suite will make my phone angle irrelevant. Thanks, Alex!

    Cell Phone Charger

I tried this trick yesterday with my iPhone 12 Pro Max, but only got what looked to be intermittent charging. I will give it another shot, but the positioning of the charger more or less makes the phone inaccessible without removal.

Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

Brief post — got my GT yesterday. It is everything I hoped it would be. By far the nicest vehicle I have ever owned. Fit and finish were beautiful. The interior was immaculate. Went for a couple of drives and it has blown me away! Definitely worth the wait. I haven’t had time to play with...

Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

Hello all! The Lucid rep is waiting in front of my house for the truck while I send some work emails over tea! So the journey from Confirmation 3/29 to VIN (I believe 7/15) to Delivery 8/19 will have been almost five months on the dot. May be a bit before I post again. Lucid has been aces up...

Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

“These luxury is not way to bring EV to masses, to bring to masses is whatever efficiently produced fastest.” Odd phrasing aside, did Elon drop that gem before or after he introduced his $150K flagship SUV with intricate gull wing doors? And then replacing the steering wheels with yokes? The...

Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

You build for the medium and long term rather than how things are at the moment or in the near future. If you wait to build until just before you need the capacity, then you have screwed the company and its shareholders. Tesla was assembling cars in tents to increase manufacturing capacity...

Lucid’s Complete Stoppage of All Customer Delivery’s….What Do You Think?

Drendino said it already but it bears repeating. The “Lucid Insider” is one of us just repeating what another one of us wrote. And that other writer was speculating based off of a conversation he or she had with a DA. While I doubt no one’s intentions, that game of telephone should not drive...
