Tesla Model 3 vs. Lucid Air Pure

I would also. Unless one is going to track a car, IMHO 0-60 is not a useful measure for an electric car (before you say that is because I don't have a fast one, the 0-60 time in the GV60P is 3.7 seconds). They all move fairly rapidly from a stop. For me, I want to know that if I am on a road...

    New owner needs guidance

I was on the Lucid waiting list for a RWD Pure for several years. When Lucid announced that the specs for the Pure would be out in November I cheered. Then they were released and were only for the AWD version. I waited a few months and still no specs on what decontenting had occurred on the...

    New owner needs guidance

I think there is something to be said for the purity of rear wheel drive. Assuming, of course, that one is not in a cold and snowy climate. For "feel" I would prefer the RWD car. But one is moving a very heavy vehicle so the extra HP and torque could come in handy.

    Nice Lucid Review on Electrek

I agree but would add: (1) that unless one gets the rather old S or X models, one must look sideways to see the speed limit, how fast one is going, etc. No binnacle and no Headup Display (not even an option). and, (2) Selling an imperfect (and therefore dangerous) ADAS system as "Full self...

    Auto Insurance using regen breaking

Actually, I suspect that in many instances they may cause accidents. If you see the TV commercials (I forget which company) some or many drivers will delay hard breaking or sudden speed increases needed to safely avoid an accident because they are monitoring and watching their scores. To...

Pay Attention Warning and Keep Hands on Wheel when in Highway Assist

But on many highway runs the road is straight so one gets the message even though one is "driving" the vehicle. Alas, I believe all cars do this today one way or another (haptic touch sensor, camera, etc.) so the annoyance is not unique to Lucid. One of those things that we must learn to live...

Do you think Lucid will make cheap cars?

I couldn't agree more. I would add that it would also help if one would see in front of the driver not only how fast one is going but the speed limit. If Tesla offered a HUD option, that would go partly toward mitigating this idiocy. But it doesn't offer any choice to view this information...

    Front 21" Tire Shortage

The reason they don't show up when one searches for tires for the car is that the OEM front tires are "HL" rated whereas the Michelins are XL rated. According to the Continental tire web site, the difference between XL and HL rated tires is: "An XL load index tyre can cope with a load capacity...

    Replace entire HV battery?

That is what I meant. Now Lucid has a happy customer who won't mind if it takes a little longer to fix his car. I have had loaners in my life for extended periods and so long as they were decent loaners, I didn't mind.

    Nice Lucid Review on Electrek

That would be quite a collection of new cars but it does clarify my confusion!

    Nice Lucid Review on Electrek

"Some of the targeted competitors are the upcoming Macan EV and Kia EV5 and we were told the new EVs will function similarly to model like the Hyundai Santa Fe, Rivian R2, and Ford Bronco" I am confused by this sentence. The Kia EV5 is not a performance vehicle and the Porsche Macan EV most...

Lucid Air gets MAJOR price decreases...

No. I made this decision when I was still waiting for a Pure and was on the waiting list. Last Thanksgiving I did a trip to Las Vegas. Drove from Scottsdale to an AirbNb. Unloaded and drove to the airport to get my daughter, son-in-law and two grandkids and bring them back to the AirBNB...

    Replace entire HV battery?

I agree. I understand that there may not be enough Lucids to have Lucid loaners. I can also understand using a car rental company. But what I would expect is that either way, I would immediately get a vehicle that Lucid owns or is renting for me and one that is roughly equivalent to the...

Lucid Air gets MAJOR price decreases...

Or rent a phev or ICE car. In my case, these kinds of trips involve family members, multiple trips at the destination, carseats for toddlers, strollers, etc. All of these make the trip stressful. I made the decision that until there are widespread working fast chargers all over, in the few...

    Windshield Sunshade Option

For anyone who is spatially challenged, as am I, these are hard to fold. So I prefer the accordion variety even though it does fold up in as small a package. But if one can easily fold these things, they work great.

Mileage experience after 5k miles on GT

true enough. But my point is that to some, range is all important; to others, it is important but only one of many important features, and to some (like me) it is not important. Lucid drivers fall into all three categories. My guess is that if someone drive a Lucid Air the same way in...

Mileage experience after 5k miles on GT

Well... I drive 75+ on the highway; I drive in low regen; I do jackrabbit starts; I never turn off the HVAC. And I love my car. In a year and a half my average has been 3.0 MKW. But, and it is a big but, I don't care about range. Driving like I stole it, with AC on, I can still get anywhere...

    What Are They Thinking?

Very interesting. Unless your focus group was somehow an outlier, they just ignored the focus group results. Of course, they probably slice and dice the results by age, nationality, race (illegal but they probably still do it). locality, etc. so maybe your focus group was composed of a cohort...

ICE car privilege : any empty space

Love it. IMO there are three types of ICE drivers who park at chargers: (1) the idiots who don't even notice that it is a reserved charging spot (folks you don't want to meet on the road and a very small percentage); (2) Those who do it only if they can't find a reasonably convenient regular...
