Lucid Group, Inc. Announces Investment of $1.0 Billion by an Affiliate of PIF

Agreed. Even if the PIF was 10 billion into Lucid, just a drop in their ever-expanding bucket.

    Sprint Mode

Put yourself on a well-surfaced open road, place your hands securely on the steering wheel, "confirm" (🥹) your selection of Sprint mode, then hit the accelerator peddle down all the way. Don't worry, you won't be able to keep it there for more than a second or two (at last not the first time)...

    Parking/emergency brake

Great clarifications. I stand partially corrected! However, you can drive an ICE car with the emergency brake applied, albeit with a lot of resistance and eventual smell from burning the brake pads. You cannot drive an EV when in Park. But, then again, I am open for correction!

    Parking/emergency brake

Nope. Shifting to P is like shifting to P in an ICE car, not Neutral with the manual emergency brake pressed. There is no emergency brake in the EV, since the entire "drive train" in the EV is locked electronically. In an ICE vehicle, the emergency brake is a mechanical pulling of the brake...

    Parking/emergency brake

If you are stopped (without Creep or Roll engaged), the "Hold" indicator will conveys you are in an electronic brake mode requiring you to depress the accelerator peddle to move. If you do not move, the car will automatically "shift" to Park after a few minutes of inaction.

    Lucid ads and commercials

Actually I do remember that vividly! I consider that to be a classic case study in introducing a new automotive product -- it was Infiniti v Lexus. Both led with ethereal sounds and images for months, but no car. We were all asking "But what does the car look like!??" Lexus eventually...

    Lucid ads and commercials

I've always preferred viewing "marketing" as the process of creating name recognition and product awareness BEFORE a need for the product arises. Basically, establishing (or maintaining) a cognitive impression that can be activated once a purchase option begins to surface. I'm not expecting to...

    Lucid ads and commercials

OK. I guess I was stuck in my original posts yesterday about all the beautifully produced TV ads I was seeing this weekend for MB, BMW, Polestar, and other EVs. Made my stomach ache. 😞

    Lucid ads and commercials

OK, I must be missing a boatload of stuff here. Where is all the advertising being discussed here?? I'm not seeing ANY!

    Lucid ads and commercials

Interesting exchange, but my view is there is a dearth of advertising -- period. Might there be a strategic decision to suppress demand at the moment? Thought we had cars in inventory ready to go out. Is that not the case?

    Lucid ads and commercials

I don't recall any of the television ads for MB, BMW, Polestar, Audi, etc. EVs referencing where they are made. They focus (directly and indirectly) on style, performance, comfort, interior space, and range, all with polish and energy. Architectural Digest is fine for a micro-marketing effort...

Lots of scratches and body damage after Lucid Pure delivered after service

"The vehicle was super dusty when being delivered so could not spot the body damage while the driver was there. He kept rushing me to get the signature which was fishy and I tried to see if I can find the damage but as it always happens, found it after he left." He did not see it. :-(

Polestar is on multiple times this week, and Lexus as I key this! Taking advantage of NCAA playoffs and PGA tournaments.

    Lucid ads and commercials

In the last week, I have seen a series of high production value television ads for MB, BMW, Lexus, and other EV sedans and SUVs. Each one made my stomach churn, knowing my Lucid is just as polished, appealing, and satisfying (if not more) than those vehicles. Makes me feel those manufacturers...

Lots of scratches and body damage after Lucid Pure delivered after service

So very, very sad for you after waiting for your car. :-( When the transport driver hurries you to sign off, it's a dead giveaway of problems he wants to say was preexisting or due to you! Happened to me with evidence the car's side apron had been cut through (along with other stuff) on a...
