    And...another Sapphire, mine is #65.

I’m at 4328 miles. Car has been perfect, It is extremely capable driving around in smooth mode and with the push of a button it goes to another level. Only difference from the DE as a daily is a little more tire noise. The Michelins have been good so far. I have driven in temps in the mid...

    19" and 20" wheel measurements

I have not yet. I was told the 265s will fit up front, but the sapphire has modifications for the 295s. Both cars will be back at the shop later this week. I’ll see if we can find time next week.

Battery Alert Call from Lucid Service

I’m still waiting on the trade in program for the Sapphire. 😂 Have switched from trade in on Sapphire to waiting for an awesome Air DE trade in program for a Gravity DE.

    Lucid Air or BMW i5

I’m a huge BMW fan. Currently the Lucid is a better EV. Not close IMO. Better design, better performance, better looking. I’m looking forward to

Impressions of my first long road trip

If you read previous posts we were discussing the long range Rivian battery with 142kWh

Impressions of my first long road trip

Real world arriving at ~6pm at 20% in a DE and needing 100% to have some buffer to make it to next stop. Hotel charger was 7kW and took 14 hours, left at 8am. In the Rivian it would have been until 11am. Full size pickups with 200kW hour battery going 20%-100% with 7kW would take 24 hours...

Despite what % of EPA (we) are getting, the Lucid has range that allows it to go places you are not going to go in a Rivan. At least not in the same time frame.

    Charging curve logs post 2.1.52

Anecdotally, I find above to be accurate. In moderate to hot temperatures, I have found preconditioning the battery to have limited value, perhaps a few minutes at best. I have very limited experience charging at temperatures below 40.

    Dream edition on Bat

    I wouldn’t mind having 911 T in the garage!

    Dream edition on Bat

I’m keeping my DE for road trips and driving Sapphire around town. DE has more value to me than the market will pay. The used EV market is a great place to go for some good values. The Air being the best value.

Impressions of my first long road trip

If you are driving 75 mph and getting 3.3 miles per kWh for 200 miles. In 2.66 hours you would use 60,006 Wh for the 200 miles. Running a seat heater is about 40 watts. 2 seat heaters for 2.66 hours is about 213 Wh. Total use goes from 60,006 to 60,219. You have reduced your range by 0.7 miles...

Impressions of my first long road trip

I also stop at the most convenient charging station in a 2-3 hour window. I always set ac/heat to whatever is comfortable and drive a little on the high side of the speed of traffic. Going 80-85mph in comfort. Charging from 80-90% is only about 10 minutes. If I need the 30 mile + cushion to make...

It will be nice when Lucid sells an adapter. An 80 amp TeslaTap at $300 of course you are going to get people buying something for $29 on Amazon or eBay.

First recorded 60-130 pull. 32 degrees out.

Could someone (if you can that is) please tell me if at WOT (wide open throttle) at 100% SOC (state of charge) how long the Lucid Air Sapphire produces it's maximum quoted horsepower and torque figures? I thought about this and if you accelerated to the cars top speed. Let’s say that is 240...

Sometimes changing to a different audio source then back to CarPlay works.

For the money, I have been very disappointed

The Lucid 21 inch rims are pretty stout design. If you are damaging rims on the road you are hitting something serious. It’s a heavy car and it’s going to be hard on tires. I’ve been able to talk to one of the engineers on the team for the Michelins on the Sapphire and they are well aware of...

First recorded 60-130 pull. 32 degrees out.

Tech talk on the Drive Unit Motor. The electric motor has a torque curve that is flat, but at some RPM it will start to drop. So the car is going to accelerate to a point where the torque is going down as the RPMs go up. Heat will be the enemy and at some point the car will reduce power to...

    NACS Megathread

Yes, and the section of the @DeaneG post I quoted was about J1772 and Tesla Destination Chargers. Not CCS or Tesla Supercharger.
