Yeah go to Settings > Access & Profiles > Face Login and edit the list to remove all appearance profiles -

So not a conclusive answer (not enough testing time), but ever since I removed my facial recognition appearance profiles, I’ve had no problems with putting the car into Drive. -

Just got my Air Touring on Saturday and started seeing this today (Weds) after plugging in. I had the thought that it might be related to facial recognition, so I deleted my appearance profiles - will see if that has any effect and report back.
