    Gravity Plan B

@WeighingGravity, that's a huge range of alternatives that you're considering (from Air to Hummer). It makes me wonder, what is the reason for considering alternatives to Gravity? Do you have a need for a new vehicle by a certain date, or is it more anticipation/frustration that's leading to a...

    Another Perspective from Tyson's Corner

That's one of the things I loved about the Outback. I could fold down just one of the rear seats and slide the bass in completely behind the driver's seat. In my Audi (and now the Ioniq 5), I have to fold down two of the rear seats and angle the bass, with the neck sticking up between the front...

Article and podcast suggesting support for Android Auto and Apple Carplay diminishing

It seems like a gross exaggeration to me to say that car makers are abandoning Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. As the video notes, Tesla and Rivian never supported them, so their continued lack of support is not diminishing or abandoning support. GM is the only maker that I know of that had...

    Another Perspective from Tyson's Corner

I drove a stick years ago, and I never miss it. I owned a 2010 Outback, and was convinced enough by the efficiency of its CVT. It had paddle shifters to simulate gears if I wanted to control them myself; they worked well and were fun to use. The 2018 Audi Q5 that I owned until a week ago was...

Thank you, borski. Here are videos of a few of my aerials performances: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-NhfUBC5op3s7BwF6tttC5TcEG15UUvn/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/13QWF-XeAK7ulQWxL8nsoQNW61bYG_EhY/view?usp=drivesdk...

    Another Perspective from Tyson's Corner

I agree about the locations. The logistics would be more difficult, but someplace outside a city would have been much better. At Tyson's, they could have at least set the route to put us on the highway for a few minutes. I also hope that Lucid opens studios outside of the biggest metropolitan...

    Another Perspective from Tyson's Corner

Exactly right about the base interior. That's why I would have upgraded to the Tahoe interior if I were buying a Gravity--the massage seats and the much nicer materials. I've read about the Trailseeker. I love Subaru, and while the size seems just right for me, it's disappointing overall. I...

    Another Perspective from Tyson's Corner

I'm hoping that the midsize has the same level of luxury as Gravity. I would be disappointed if Lucid cheapens the interior and cuts features to achieve a low price point. Keep that dynamic handling package! I would gladly pay $70k for an 80%-size equivalent of Gravity.

    Another Perspective from Tyson's Corner

I'm right with you on the size, and I too have no use for a third row of seats. As I've mentioned in other threads, my ideal in terms of the size and form factor is the Subaru Outback. But there is no EV equivalent right now, and I've come to like the elegance of my Audi. The Lucid Gravity was...

That sounds like a good plan, though I don't know how likely it is for Gravity to ever get a metal roof or other colors. I'm not a fan of glass roofs either, and Zenith Red is my favorite Lucid color by far.

    Another Perspective from Tyson's Corner

Like several other forum members, I test drove the Gravity at the Tyson’s Corner event last week. I wanted to share my thoughts and perspectives. First, as some have noted, the test drive sucked. We went on a set route on some city streets around the moll. It lasted much less than 20 minutes...

Does anybody have a Gravity with a trailer hitch?

The Gravity owner’s manual says that towing is not yet supported and warns you not to do it. Towing will be added in a software update.

CarPlay Ultra, the next generation of CarPlay, begins rolling out today

Who ever said that CarPlay Ultra would force a car maker to abandon physical controls? I see no reason why they can't still have physical buttons and switches for HVAC, seats, mirrors, and anything else that they want.

CarPlay Ultra, the next generation of CarPlay, begins rolling out today

Thank you for describing these issues so well. Yes, a big benefit of CarPlay Ultra is is having a unified, consistent interface in the vehicle rather than having to switch between two very different systems to access different functions (a car interface and a phone interface). And you have...

CarPlay Ultra, the next generation of CarPlay, begins rolling out today

I can't form an opinion on CarPlay Ultra yet because I haven't seen it and haven't even read any reviews about it. But I will say that lack of CarPlay in a vehicle is pretty much a deal breaker for me. It was an essential feature that I wanted when I chose my current vehicle 7 years ago. I ruled...

    gravity manual?

The manual answers many questions about how the trailer hitch looks and operates. It's completely invisible/covered when the hitch receiver is not attached. Two big surprises, though: 1) Towing is not currently supported; it requires a future software update 2) The weight limit of the hitch...

    First Dream Edition Delivery!

This is an interesting feature that I hadn't heard about before. What kind of obstructions does it detect and how long does it take to adjust the ride height? For example, my driveway is gravel and pretty steep at the bottom. A low vehicle can scrape its nose, especially if it approaches at the...

    Gravity [Grand Touring] Reservations Tracker

Thank you for the details about Lucid's paint process. It always seemed to me that most vehicle manufacturers simply label some colors "premium" and charge an absurd fee for them. Even so, knowing that some paint colors actually cost more to apply doesn't change my decision: I just don't care...

    Gravity [Grand Touring] Reservations Tracker

Color choice was easy for me: I refuse to pay extra for a paint color. It has no value to me, and I see no reason why some colors should cost more than others. All of the available colors for Gravity seem rather bland as well. Aurora Green might be my favorite, but it's not very green (though I...

How long to keep an EV?

Thank you for the detailed analysis! I would not have expected the leases to cost so much less than the car that you purchased. As you say, there are many variables, including the value of each car (new and used). Another variable is the very high lease interest rates currently being offered on...
