Midsize platform coming in late 2026--per Electrek

https://electrek.co/2025/06/26/lucids-lcid-50k-midsize-ev-platform-will-spawn-three-top-hats/ Article says, per interim CEO, platform is coming late 2026 with production the following year. "Lucid has “three top hats” in the works, two of which will launch relatively close to each other. The...

Please, would you jump in with my baggage?

This! I'm nine months in with my Lucid, and frustrated with some issues that I've never experienced in 50 years of owning cars (none of which I've bothered to post about, FWIW). But the positives are wonderful, and although I am also impatient by nature, I do not regret my purchase at all.

Finally got WiFi working ... kind of

I just installed my LHC, but--based on these types of threads--haven't tried connected it to my WiFi network since I have a low tolerance for tech FUBARs. I set the charge time and limit in the car, plug it in, and it works fine. Am I missing any useful features by not connecting via WiFi?

RESOLVED Can anyone actually get ahold of service?

Ironically, I stopped for lunch in Millbrae after picking up my car for service; and got a ticket for no front plate (along with two Teslas parked on the same street). I got the license wrap, took it to my local CHP office where the officer initially refused to accept it. He had to check with...

    Miles/Kwh

Pure RWD w/ 19s. Lifetime (3,000 miles) is exactly 4.0 m/kwh. Mostly Bay Area freeway driving (avg. 70 mph). Efficiency was a big reason I went with the RWD Pure and 19" wheels.

Finding a working charging station, a nightmare!

Not sure if this belongs in another forum, but new EV owners should be required to take a charger-etiquette course. Often when all the chargers are full, I'll walk around to check charging status and find someone sitting in their car staring at their phone while their SOC is 85%-90%.

Driving Comparison of the three "cheap" Airs (Pure, Touring and Grand Touring)

Pure RWD w/ 19" inch wheels owner here, I had a GT loaner for two months. Agree with just about everything from OP. I much prefer the handling and quiet cabin of the Pure over the GT. Yes the GT has eyeball-peeling acceleration, but for real world use the Pure has more HP than I'll ever need...

    New to Lucid

I'm just a simple country lawyer (NorCal), 40 years of practice makes me a noob! I'm six months into my Lucid experience--and absolutely love it!

    Consumer Reports Reliabilty Rankings

I subscribe to Consumer Reports, and very often make buying decisions based on its recommendations. For cars, I will definitely take CR ratings into account, but rely more on dedicated auto publications in purchasing decisions.I expect ratings will improve as more subscriber/Lucid owners...

    National EV charger network canceled

Not sure if the EV charger network funding can be revoked via executive order, I thought those funds were allocated in legislation. Trump can rescind the Biden EO that opened the lease loophole in the $7,500 charging credit.

    Hunting wild Lucid Airs

I was driving on Highway 1 between Monterey and Half Moon Bay this weekend, saw three!

3 weeks into my Lucid Air Touring Ownership Experience – love the car, absolutely hate the stereo.

I own a Pure with the base sound system, been driving a loaner with the Pro audio system for the last month. Bass player for 40+ years and 10-year senior editor of a home theater publication. The base system can be tuned to sound very good, BUT as others have noted is very sensitive to quality...

Front Camera option for basic non-DDP models

I believe newer production '25 Pure's come standard with the 360 cameras. My '24 Pure does not have cameras in the side mirrors, just plastic plug fittings.

Front Camera option for basic non-DDP models

I don't know exactly how the 360 image is created in DDP, but the DD base models lack cameras in the side view mirrors. I strongly suspect those cameras are needed to create the 360 image.

Front Camera option for basic non-DDP models

Not if the cameras aren't already installed. I have a late model '24 Pure with standard DD, and wrote Lucid customer service asking about retrofitting to include 360 cameras. They said no; the necessary hardware needed to be installed during production stage, and cannot be retrofitted.

    2024 Total Deliveries Announced

I posted this chart in another thread. Through July 2024, 78.1% of Lucid transactions were leases. Other carmakers are seeing BEV lease rates above 90%.

Drive System Warning - From Overnight In Garage

I had the same warning. Turned out rodents had chewed through my wiring!:(

RESOLVED Can anyone actually get ahold of service?

My car is also at Millbrae (rodents chewed through wires!). Was told Millbrae is their busiest service center, just way more Airs in the Bay Area. The crew is doing their best, but they are swamped. It took me a while to get a call back from them, after which they have been good responding via...

    Lease Deals are INSANELY GREAT

You are correct. I missed that the DD credit only applies to remaining '25 inventory with basic DD.
