Absolutely. I just paid $4K for an equivalent CPU upgrade on our Volvo EV, just to have faster UX response and fewer hangs. No new features.
Lucid is giving customers an outright gift by charging under $1K, if they choose to upgrade.
Ionna begins (?) rolling out NACS-only charging installations, as did Rivian some time ago:

Why would you want to do this?
Assuming you are speaking of the Air rather than Gravity - for me, the phone worked often enough that I was willing to put up with frequent glitches for the convenience. This will depend on your phone model, OS version, etc.
But the fob was close to 100% reliable...
The issue is voltage, not current. Lucid Air cars' charging circuitry only supports 50kW of power when stepping up a 450V charging connection to 800-900V to match the battery potential.
No step-up is needed on a 920+ volt charging station, so the 50kW limit is no longer a cap.
Gravity vehicles...
A little of both. EA sourced equipment from at least three different new-to-DCFC manufacturers, and didn't adequately plan for breakdowns. They were being measured by the number of DCFC installations rather than uptime.
