I don’t notice any glare on my XC90. I don’t even care about the HUD being blurry in the interim, assuming it can be fixed at some point. I’ll just turn it off. I am concerned with a constant glare even if turned off.

Do you have the fabric installed? Do you notice an obnoxious/unbearable glare?

I like the dynamic lighting. I’m curious if there are more instances of the newer deliveries having the felt installed to prevent the glare.

Do you regret getting the tech package?

Just circling back on my last post on this subject. SA in Short Hills, NJ said Lucid recently fixed the issue with the glare but couldn’t tell me what they did. I mentioned the fabric but he hadn’t heard of it. I also never heard back from my note to Lucid. Sorry, all.

I posted this in another thread. I was able to see the HUD in the Porsche Cayenne. I was so surprised as I cannot see in the Volvo. Unsure how they solved for that.

I just wrote Lucid and asked if they’ve recognized the glare as a concern and have fixed with the fabric. I’ll revert when/if I hear back.

Both go down in the Volvo XC90. I never use it. You could be parallel parking on either side of the street I guess.

I’m likely ordering with power also but the ambient lighting is pretty cool lol. I have heads up in the Volvo but I barely use it because you can’t see it with polarized sunglasses. I test drove the Cayenne and was surprised that my sunglasses didn’t block out their HUD. Guess they solved it.

Yes, understood. Didn’t mean to detract. Folks were complaining about hardware issues in this thread hence my question. We often go off topic for a bit before coming back to the topic at hand.

Would you mind answering my question above? If software were fully fixed, would you otherwise be happy/satisfied with the vehicle or are you also disappointed with parts of the hardware and would advise folks wanting to buy to wait?

There are lots of people advising these folks including counsel/legal. Maybe some thought it would create liability for the company to release such a statement.

Question for folks. Are people overall happy with the hardware or do you feel you wish you waited until next year’s model to fix some of those issues (water leaking in frunk, as an example)? I’m asking as a prospective buyer. Thanks.

I plan to purchase in 1Q’26 after returning from attending the Olympics. While I’d prefer to take advantage of any onsite discounts might be available at the time, I’m considering placing a new order with the hope these hardware issues are addressed on a new build (steering wheel, seat, etc. etc.).
