Hardwire your home charging station! Or use a Hubbel / Bryant / Cooper 14-50 receptacle, not Leviton

Same caution as DeaneG said. You want to check previous threads. Simplest is to measure diameter of the receptacle; should be around 2.5" (2.44" to be precise). Non EV-rated receptacles are closer to 2" in diameter. You can also try and scratch the black part with a knife; if it scratches...

    Air software version 2.10.0

I got the notice on my Touring on Friday, updated without issues. Didn't see any Touring owners so I thought I'd chime in. New seat belt warning looks like it was designed by my 4+ year-old granddaughter :)

    Electrify America charging free?

My own experience is that when you purchased the vehicle, you have to have a credit card on file. Whenever i charged on EA, I would get a "pre-charge" of $75 or $50 on my card. This disappeared within a day or so. If EA is showing $0 on the charger, Lucid is probably picking up the tab...

    3.0 on Air

After "ordering" the chip upgrade when it was first announced, I was finally able to get it last week! The one thing that I've noticed is that Android Auto loads up in an instant. On a sidenote, my Touring was throwing a whole bunch of error codes while DDP was engaged. I noticed this about 3...

    Electrify America charging free?

Mine expired at the end of December, so I'm using my Autel charger at home.

Why Donut labs solid state battery could be real

My understanding is that one of the big benefits of solid state batteries is that the charging is linear; that is, the charging rate doesn't taper off as you approach 100% SOC. OTOH, the charger itself would probably throttle down due to heat buildup. So the weak link would be the charger and...

Why Donut labs solid state battery could be real

Your logic sounds logical except for a couple of small points, usually in very tiny print. At the EA stations where I charge, the 350kW is never reached because there are other vehicles hooked up to multiple chargers. The capacity of the substation is usually the limiter. Also, if it's really...

Why Donut labs solid state battery could be real

I'm afraid if I pull the trigger that my wife might pull the trigger. MBW (murder by wife) lol! That said, I'm really loving the Air Touring.

Why Donut labs solid state battery could be real

Turning 77 this year so I'll probably be one of the early adopters if/when SSB comes to fruition, BUT I will be selective in pulling the trigger. If it's Tesla, I'll probably pass; if it's Lucid or Toyota, it will definitely be a GO. My tough decision is if it's Mercedes-Benz. I may wait til...

    “Drive System Warning”

Update: Vehicle diagnosed - battery imbalance at 14%. They charged the vehicle and the imbalance didn't change. Removed and replaced the HV battery pack. The part number is W11-692442-B0. IDK if this is the entire battery or not. They also added 2 units of Prestone coolant. As always...

    “Drive System Warning”

Got this code a few days ago. Tried a reset, then contacted Customer Service. They were extremely prompt. Tow truck came at 8am! Diagnosed with bad high voltage battery, part on order so I should get my car back sometime this coming week. Will try and get more details from Dan when repair...

Anyone up for auto insurance rate comparisons?

Unfortunately, Travelers doesn't cover Nevada when I tried to get a quote.

As an owner, why are you investing in Lucid?

I was hoping it would follow the Tesla arc and make me millions. Well, that didn't pan out lol! My granddaughter will inherit my shares. If Lucid does follow Tesla and introduces the mid-sized SUV, I think that will be a turning point. Waiting for next year. Meanwhile, trying to decide on...

Key fob battery; spec and warning

If you are near a Winco, stop by and pick up all the coin batteries that you need. About a third of the price from other stores. For 2032, Costco has them in packs of 12. I think Ford trucks use the 2450.

    Floor mats!

If I remember correctly, I bought these direct from 3D - free shipping, and I didn't have to pay sales tax like I would have had to do if I bought them from Amazon. I also got a $10 off coupon. They are still offering that if you buy $150 worth of stuff.

    Floor mats!

I've had the 3D mats for 2 years and 13K miles. Have never washed them but vacuum once in a while. They are molded and have a backing that will adhere to the dots on the Lucid floor. I've had these mats in our Mini Cooper. I have used WeatherTech and Hexomat; these are by far the best mats...

    2.8.0 Software Update

I was gonna post something but had to slog through the 18 pages of hate mail, then I forgot what I was gonna post. Oh yeah, got the update on Tuesday. Took a while. ONE full business day after 7/31. It's actually the quickest timeframe I've ever received an OTA, compared to past updates...

Absolutely wise words. The road between Kingman and Las Vegas undulates quite a bit. That kills the efficiency. It's about 260 miles between Las Vegas and Prescott. Even at 100 percent, I wouldn't have made it without stopping.
