    Road Trip Disaster

When I made the decision to purchase a Lucid (2 years and 2 weeks to be exact), I pretty much signed up to be a long-term beta tester. I'm actually okay with that. I've learned a lot in the 6 months of ownership. The most important lesson is to pre-plan, as in finding the next charging...

NACS (Tesla adapter) versus CCS Megathread

Tech Talks Episode 3 on the Wunderbox gives a nice review of this topic at around the 12-minute mark. https://www.lucidmotors.com/tech-talks

    Another positive EA experience

I believe that is the only location in the LV valley that boast Hyperfast chargers. It's busy! W. Cheyenne has been vandalized so only 2 work and very slow. Flamingo has at least 1 station down. Best experience for me has been the one at Sam's Club on E. Craig - 120kW dropping to 70kW...

    RESOLVED Android Auto Thursday

Yes, very much. I’m building a ‘55 Bel Air with LS6 Corvette engine from the ground up so I understand the mechanical relationship of hardware. I understand that coding is much more difficult than hardware because you can’t see it, nor can you see necessarily see the relationship between how...

    RESOLVED Android Auto Thursday

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I had the opportunity to visit my daughter when she worked as a design engineer for Daimler-Chrysler. I received permission to visit her workstation. Lo and behold, they had a Toyota completely torn apart. I asked what's a Toyota doing in a DC...

    RESOLVED Android Auto Thursday

My two cents. Do I think Lucid is working on AA? No. I disagree with those who say this software is hard. That's probably true with the first car company that developed AA; after that, it's just reverse engineering (aka "stealing") by other companies. Remember the 18% cut in staff? I...

Can I Make it to Vegas?

Just finished a drive from Vegas to San Diego, and here's my trip report: The range estimator is MUCH more accurate and tweaked to be a little on the conservative side. I started with an estimate of 42 miles at the end of my trip but the estimate INCREASED as we drove past Mountain Pass and...

    Gravity Testing!

I dunno. If the Gravity was Lucid's first model, I would not have bought it. The style of the Air, there's nothing else like it. After 5 months, people still honk at me and give me a thumbs up. I know many of you have had the same experience.

    Gravity Testing!

Also good for older folks who can't/don't want to climb out of a sedan. With a next-gen battery pack (better range), I can see ourselves hitting the road a lot more.

    Gravity Testing!

A shortened, 2-row version is what I'm waiting for. Lighter in weight and hopefully with the next generation of battery technology. Given the motor specs of the Air, the Gravity 0-60 should be well below 5s seconds; I'd say around 3.8.

    My first EA charging experience

EA service in Vegas is deteriorating. 2 chargers down at Target on Flamingo today. Went to Cheyenne and 3 of 4 are down. 2 of them have the cord ("hose") completely snipped off. Either vandalism or the charger transformer went kaput. Called EA and was placed on hold. Bumped into another...

NACS (Tesla adapter) versus CCS Megathread

I don't think this will have much effect on many of us here. A lot of us already have home chargers or 14-50 receptacles for the Lucid charger. By the time my EA 3-year freebie expires, I hope the "standard" will emerge, at which time I will/may buy the appropriate adapter for the Lucid...

    Charger FAQ/Explanation

Assuming you have 240v, it should charge at max 9.6kWh. I think that equates to roughly your estimate. I've never stayed up to see if the charge rate decreases as you near 80% or 100% SOC. Others can jump in with their experience on that.

    Charger FAQ/Explanation

Good luck with your install. BTW, when you plug in the Lucid charger, the Lucid logo should light up; if it doesn't, that means you didn't shove the connecting cable into the charger hard enough. Happened to both my BIL and me; we had red faces, especially me since I was the one who called CS.

I'm Averaging 1 service appointment per month. What about you?

The good and the bad. My BIL and I both received our Tourings in late December. I have had zero issues other than a broken clip above the driver's seat (headliner, near the "T". Took less than 5 minutes, had it done while tech was servicing my BIL. He, on the other hand, has had the tech...
