    Is Lucid styling the problem?

Nope. I have a Touring and I came from an iX xDrive50 (523 hp). The iX was quite a bit faster and more aggressive. The Gravity handles better though. They are both fast enough that I don't really care. I actually prefer the way the Gravity delivers power. Much smoother.

Front passenger door won't open from inside

When I open the other 3 doors and operate the inner or outer handles, I can clearly hear the unlatch motor engaging. On the front passenger door, only the outer handle engages the unlatch motor.

Front passenger door won't open from inside

The rear doors work just fine.

Front passenger door won't open from inside

I've noticed my passengers always have some trouble to open the door. I never sit there, so I hadn't notice the electric unlatch doesn't work from the inside. The door will only open if I pull all the way back into the mechanical unlatch. From the outside, it works fine, so it's not the latch...

    The Long Goodbye

Lucid is my neighbor. I live literally 2 miles from them here in Newark. I've heard the same from their mobile service, especially with everything related to door operation. Key fobs, door handles. I just called the guy again because now my front passenger door doesn't open from the inside anymore.

Android Auto update - full screen

Apple doesn't copy anything. They "invent" the same thing again 10 years later.

Android Auto update - full screen

Both Android Auto and Carplay support getting SOC from the car. Whether or not the car is sharing that, it's up to the OEM.

Android Auto update - full screen

I've used Android phones since they were first introduced, so I like them. My work phone is an iPhone 17, which is fine as well. But when comparing Android Auto with Carplay, Carplay is a joke. AA is far superior, especially now with Gemini.

Android Auto update - full screen

https://blog.google/products-and-platforms/platforms/android/android-in-cars-updates/ It looks like Android Auto is going full screen on Lucids. That's really cool. The whole interface is getting much better as well. The screenshot shows battery state at destination as well.

    The Long Goodbye

Actually, I learned by playing with their API that you can't really turn this function off. The proximity check is always running no matter what. What you can do is to disable the auto lock/unlock. I never liked this proximity auto lock/unlock, so I disabled that on day 1. When the car is in...

    New Bugs Since 3.5.1

Tesla has learned that lesson the hard way too. They are now in their 4th hardware generation and possibly about to launch the 5th one. Hardware is expensive, so it's not surprising all those companies try to go as cheap as manageable.

    The Long Goodbye

That's right. It's so much easier to develop software for a dedicated ECU though. Everything is very deterministic. Developing a lot of different applications that will run concurrently in one bigger computer is a completely different animal. Now you have to deal with myriad of concurrency...

    The Long Goodbye

I'm glad to see Emad is paying attention to this. Given the variation of latency of various car functions, it's apparent to me (as a software engineer) that the car's computer is struggling with a large run queue. Even on a non-real-time OS, if you have capacity available, which you should...

    New Bugs Since 3.5.1

Key fob RF commands shouldn't involve any internet communications, but those folks seem to be so challenged (to be polite) with software, that I wouldn't be surprised with anything. The car maintains connectivity with AWS all the time. It has an OpenVPN tunnel and an MQTT channel. The variance...

What's your wish list for Lucid Gravity

I have it. You can actually send distinct commands to open and close, which is even better. I always open my garage from two blocks away through Home Assistant on Android Auto. I can also hold the mic button and say "open the garage".

    The Long Goodbye

It's just as terrible. I wouldn't be surprised if the new model comes just as bad as well. You can buy a $20k Hyundai Venue (cheapest car in the US) and the doors will work just fine.

    New Bugs Since 3.5.1

You’re absolutely right. This company will end up going bankrupt not because they don’t make great cars. Much the opposite. They make great cars that people can’t tolerate, because they aren’t dependable. They’re building a terrible reputation for themselves. Look at the reviews from Savage...

    New Bugs Since 3.5.1

100%. When everything works, it's the best SUV out there. I love it! I have the same relationship with my airplane (Diamond DA62). When everything works, I love it! But boy, sometimes it tests your patience. I hear the same from boat owners.

    New Bugs Since 3.5.1

I really think they are desperately tweaking the software trying to work around bad hardware decisions. The 3.5.1 thing we see in the cars is the base image. They can push config changes over the air at any time, without anybody knowing. That's in fact very common in mobile apps.
