Yep! I wonder if most aren't aware of that, so small delays become big ones.

In 3.5 years, my Air I never had a problem unlocking with the fob, and it never required an unscheduled service. Just my own data point which I feel compelled to repeat, as those few whose cars had a severe problem feel compelled to repeat theirs.

For me, anyway, it's pretty good now and definitely in the easy-to-enjoy range. My primary wants now are fullscreen Android Auto (should be coming soon from Google, but TBD) and Google Digital Car Key. Maybe next month? We've waited on third-party certifications before.

Sorry to hear that. I always carried the fob when it was rainy, etc and I needed to be sure I'd be able to gain entry quickly. In this case, those pesky admirers caught you unprepared.

I do use raise/lower on the phone app from time to time, as well as lock/unlock, frunk, trunk, keyless go. If only I could keep five icons visible on the car controls tile instead of four!

So far, the portable batteries that people have tried have not been able to supply power to a load while being charged by the vehicle. Just one or the other. It's been a year or two since I've heard of anyone trying this though - could be the situation is different now.

I had an incorrect "traffic clear" notification yesterday when the opposing traffic got a green light and started moving, but I still had a red light with two cars stopped ahead of me. I sent a bug report to [email protected] and didn't think anything of it past that.

I'm guessing that a connector wasn't fully inserted into the new CCCV2. Or less likely, the CCCV2 is defective. Get service to have a look. Mobile tech can do it.

We often drive past a Rivian R&D facility and a Rivian showroom on our way to our favorite pizza-by-the-slice place. They and the surrounding streets are hopping with R2s. To my eye they are very appealing, reasonably priced, compact adventure vehicles, a crisp and tidy conventional truck-type SUV.

Gravity OTA version 3.4.1 on Jan 28 2026 had a fob OTA update with improvement in battery life. A lot of people tried changing fob batteries since then due to fob reliability issues, then most reported that the new battery didn't help - so the problem in their cases wasn't battery drain. I...

4. AFAIK fob battery life is no longer an issue. At this point, if a fob isn't reliable, IMO it needs to be replaced under warranty. Mine has always worked 100% of the time.

I think it's becoming clear that some key fobs are defective and this not be a software issue. My keyfob has never failed to open the door, not once.
