You'll need a LOT of solar panels on your shed to charge your EV in any significant way. In cloudy weather, they won't generate much energy.

This is in no way unusual. We have owned six EVs from five different manufacturers. Freeway range for each one has been about 80% of EPA range.

The iX5 could be a contender in 2028 as well. My eye is on the EX60 P12 Cross Country when it becomes available in the USA; quite a step down from Gravity in luxury but very well reviewed, not as large, and with native Google, fitting in better with our digital life.

I mean this in only a positive way: I'm guessing that Gravity isn't going to be a good choice for your situation and perspective. No car is right for everyone. My own opinion only, after owning an Air and now a Gravity for a total of nearly four years.

The ports on the back of the front seats will likely work great for your in-laws, as they did for me, but are inconvenient enough to reach while driving that they are little practical help.

FWIW my own Gravity fob battery life seems to be in the range of about 4-6 months. Not great, but also not particularly troubling. A battery is $1. A careful, detail-oriented person will likely discover several minor issues and triumphs in owning a Gravity.
