Just playing devils advocate…. If “100s of years of no change” were the sole guiding factor in deciding whether to bring in some new change, then we would not have the “squircle” 😄 and perhaps other new innovations that did work out well.

Please let us know. But are you also facing any “won’t unlock” or “won’t start” issues with the key fob? (assuming you are not using your Card)

I am hopeful that they will resolve this key fob and other issues in the next 12 months or so. These are far from unsolvable issues. If they can do so, launch the $50K+ mid-tier SUV by late 2026 and also sign some tech licensing deal with a legacy automaker (to pay for their investments), then...

Right now their problem is not marketing... they need to get their software and production issues under control.. they need a full-time CEO, and once they have all that.. they can market the hell out of it..

Good point! When I started looking for a luxury ride I test drove one of the Cadillac new models (sorry I can’t remember the name of it because all their new cars sound like characters from Asterix if you know what I am talking about). The test drive was ok. But not having CarPlay was a no-go...

There goes that theory :) Perhaps it is down to the cup holder issue.. @hmp10 - I for one eagerly await the return of your car! ☺️ and pray that they have replaced that cupholder part and it solves the key fob issue! (and of course your GPS issue and others too)

Valid point. It may explain the battery issue may not the car lock/unlock issue.

This is true. Also even tiny mechanical movements (vibration) can have cumulative effect leading to failure over time. This could also explain the delayed failure of the fobs

True that Tesla and perhaps some others already have this feature working reliably.

:) Yes... this is why new batteries (button cells) sometimes have a small plastic sticker on the bottom that you have to peel off before using. Same for when you buy some devices (e.g. on Amazon) that comes with a battery, they put a little plastic thingy that you have to pull out before using...
