That's 100% what's happening. I've given up my AAA membership because of a couple of occasions of them doing the same thing to me. Both time when they left me stranded on the side of the road, I was able to call for tow truck services directly and find one to come.

I'd argue that the bug is locking while the key is inside. Any delay they could pick will be a flaw in someone's eyes. But it’s hard to imagine that anyone thinks the car should auto-lock while the key is inside.

Most owners don't participate in this forum. To me it's entirely plausible that a negative experience with the vehicle would be what prompts you to find the forum and vent your frustration. Add in that we've seen similar reports, and I see little reason to be skeptical.

I think someone in an earlier Gravity thread said that there was an aftermarket Gravity spare available that fits in the frunk. Personally, I'd rather sacrifice frunk space than to store the tire as pictured in the photo here.
