There are also much cheaper, lighter thermoelectric (Peltier) coolers available. They are far less efficient than compressor-style coolers, so will heat up your car more and will not cool as far below ambient temp.

If there’s no impact spot you can determine, likely it’s a warranty repair. Could have just been a flaw in the glass that caused it to crack in the heat. If there was impact, that’s a whole other story.
