Engineering Explained joining the Lucid Lemon Club

...to the next track and i have to restart the playlist, re-click shuffle...wipers don't work as well as other cars as I've had for rain detection, heat/ac nowhere near as strong as other vehicles, have to wake my phoen sometimes to get PAAK working, etc.) but I only have quirks and I can also...

What's your wish list for Lucid Gravity

Huh. Lucky you. My GT's ventilated seats are decidedly weak sauce. Whereas my Land Rover's will blow me through the windshield on high. ;)

Effect of Tire/Wheel Choice on Gravity Range

...pressures I also notice as well the differences. The Hankooks at least show quite an increase in pressure from cold to highway once they get heat in them, I was surprised. But it may also be a feature to help reduce highway rolling resistance, usually the car shows 45-46 psi after about 20...

    Is Lucid styling the problem?

...Bluetooth and that someone in corporate signed off on warrantying a POS powertrain for 10 whole years (still salty about throwing a rod on the freeway in the heat of summer). Maybe "Grace, Space, and Pace" fits better - is Lucid the modern day Jaguar? Honestly not a bad choice for a getaway...

The thermostats are the buttons I push - I needn't care which HVAC method they're using, as long as I can push a button to...

    Abnormal Brake Wear?

It could just be some uneven surface rust or pad transfer from light brake usage combined with regen, especially after recent suspension and motor work. Since the brakes were likely removed, I’d still have the service center inspect it to rule out a sticking caliper or improper pad seating...

    Another world first: Losing panels

...specialty 3M VHB tape to attach aluminum muntins to our glass windows for the "le Corbusier" look we wanted. A decade later -- through Florida heat, humidity, sunshine, and 5 hours in the eastern wall of Hurricane Irma -- every muntin is still in place. In fact, when a mower cracked a...

    Plugin refrigerator recommendation

There are also much cheaper, lighter thermoelectric (Peltier) coolers available. They are far less efficient than compressor-style coolers, so will heat up your car more and will not cool as far below ambient temp.

Critical Feedback After a Few Months

...in either outside seat (without the booster) he engages both seat sensors and in turn the screen and hvac. Agree it's annoying if I am only taking the youngest somewhere amd have to remember the heat or ac will not naturally engage. Luckily he's at least old enough now to complain pretty quickly.

$100K Lucid Air – 3 Years Later, Still Waiting on Promises

i'm getting similar numbers on efficiency...except it's km/kwh :(. Life efficiency for the vehicle (~73k kms, ~45k miles) is about 4.8km/kwh...or 3 miles/kwh. It's pretty brutal. Don't get me wrong...it's fine with similar cars, but I was expecting slightly better. Not similar to real world...

...and in winters I consistently get 250 to 270 miles when I start at 100% and run it down to 10 or 15%—this Nov-Feb, I averaged 3.5 miles/kWh with heat running comfortably—and in summer I can count on 350 to 380 miles. (obviously, in short trips around town, efficiencies are lower, but still...

...in the glass. Yes, small star cracks can grow, but there are none. Interesting that the crack goes way down to the very bottom of the glass and runs along that area only about an inch or so above the base. It was not expose to any excess heat or cold. Very mild weather here when it happened.

    Big Crack Appeared in Windshield

If there’s no impact spot you can determine, likely it’s a warranty repair. Could have just been a flaw in the glass that caused it to crack in the heat. If there was impact, that’s a whole other story.
