    Non-EV Tires OK??

The key is the load rating. That is most important. EV tires have foam inserted inside. I used 2 non EV Pirelli Zero tires for a few weeks after a flat before my local Lucid service center replaced them with OEM Pirellis. I noticed some but minimal difference in noise. The greatest noise...

    EA is Improving

Wow. I’m speechless. My condolences. I charge on a TOU rate of $.073/kWh. Regular rate is $.173/kWh.

    EA is Improving

Very small. Maybe it consumed 1-2 kWh.

I made a video about range.

I will watch. IMO, efficiency is mostly about driving technique and acceleration. Plus external factors such as topography and temp. I get 4.2 driving 74 mph on road trips with my technique. Flat topography, 60+F.

    EA is Improving

Most EV’s have a battery around 70-80 KWH. Charging from 20% to 80% is about 40-50kWH for a charging session. That is about $20-25 for about 175-200 miles of range. That is about equivalent to gasoline at $3/gal. Fortunately, most EV owners charge at home for a small fraction of that cost.

    EA is Improving

The vehicle preconditions 45 minutes before a charging stop automatically.

    EA is Improving

I have been having good results at a newer EA location in Michigan City, IN. Pulling 245 KW from my Touring starting at 18% SOC. Added 40 kWH in 14 minutes. That’s 170 KW average. All of this at 15F temp. 45 min preconditioning. Not bad.

Road Tripping on EVs and Gas-based Cars, A Perspective.

Great report. I travel frequently Milwaukee to Detroit. 420 miles. Flat terrain. In summer I charge once. 4.2 mi/kWh driving 74mph and (very importantly) using ACC entirely to negotiate traffic. In winter I charge twice achieving 2.8 mi/kWh. I stop every 3 hours to use the restroom in any...

    Regenerative braking

Lucid can do better. And they will.

    Regenerative braking

I’ve posted about regen previously. It is clear the software controlling the inverter is both glitchy and has a poorly mapped function relative to temperature. In addition to fixing the software (I’ve had conservations with a service tech about this) another idea is a warning light that...

    LCID Trading

If the Q1 report is bad then there is no bottom. If there is positive news then we live another quarter or two until a significant deal is struck with a partner mid to late year. The Saudis know this thing needs to be connected up. Aston Martin. Bugatti. Many names come to mind. Very clearly not...

    LCID Trading

When it comes to investing, talking about the past, losses, mistakes, or where your funds came from is not particularly helpful. What is helpful is thinking about what will drive up valuations starting tomorrow onward. I think it is: 1. Saudi sales 2. Gravity hype 3. Some partnership deal The US...

    LCID Trading

I would like to start a thread about trading LCID. Most of the past threads about LCID have gone massively off topic. I vowed to buy below $4. But the fundamentals were so negative in 2023 with no prospect of good news in sight I waited. I finally bought at $2.80. I think there will be...

2022 Grand Touring Performance and 19" tires

With all due respect Mr. Cruz your post lacks credibility. The 19” tires are very safe and have very good grip and it would be nearly impossible to get sideways with the car in normal conditions unless you were just not paying attention. If the roadway is icy or slippery then you should drive...

mi/$ not that great in CA for EVs?

Ford is doing moderately well with EVs. I see Mach-E’s frequently in the mid-west. Their dealers would much prefer selling existing ICE products for many reasons. CT will not be available in significant quantities to the general public for 2 years. Peter R. has stated eloquently trucks are...

How often do you inflate your tires?

I have noticed tires at higher pressures like 49psi seem to lose air pressure over time more than tires at lower pressures. I check and refill mine monthly. I bought a nice digital air pressure gage that measures to +- 0.1 psi.

Another New GT Owner - Early Impressions

Welcome. Of most concern is the drivability issue. That is not normal and not acceptable. Heated seats should not oscillate in temp. I set my interior temp to 65 and it is comfy for me. 19 inch wheels do look better IMHO with the aero inserts taken off. Something to consider before...

Really bad efficiency in my Pure (during PPF)

I would do a controlled road test. Reset one of the trip meters. Turn off HVAC. Go to a highway or some road that is flat and you can drive steady 50-55. Use ACC and do not touch the pedals. Run for 5-10 miles and see what efficiency is. If temps are over 40F you should easily get over 4.5 mi/kWh.

What does everyone think of one-pedal driving in EVs?

Congrats on being the first. Very cool.

mi/$ not that great in CA for EVs?

Off peak rate in Wisconsin (12-8am) is $.07/kWH. Regular rate is $.165/kWh. I don’t know what gas prices are anymore but premium I think is below $4/gal. Home solar solutions make a lot of sense at anything over $.20/kWh. Lots of reasons to want to have options besides the grid. I’m...
