Car and Driver prototype drive of Porsche Cayenne EV

It's actually only 2 inches shorter. I'm sure the Gravity has way more interior volume though. The range will definitely be shorter but the charge speed will make it competitive (like how the Taycan is a faster road tripper than the Air.)

Car and Driver prototype drive of Porsche Cayenne EV

This is the real Gravity competition. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a65810736/2026-porsche-cayenne-electric-prototype-drive/ Only a 106kWh battery but has 400kW charging with 10-80% in 16 minutes. The shots of it off-roading are hilarious, zero articulation.

The manual only says not to tow until the upgrade (ridiculous! )

    Gravity Bugs / Issues

I get slightly enraged when my Model 3 doesn't open when I pull the door handle. Tesla at least has some excuse, they are using bluetooth in a way it was never intended (the standard for phone as key didn't exist when they developed the car.) Proximity keys with dedicated hardware have been...

    Gravity 75 mph Range

The tires on the bigger wheels have more traction (hence the lower efficiency) and the difference in range probably isn't as large as the EPA numbers suggest (rolling resistance is a smaller percentage of highway vs. city range) The third row range hit is just because the EPA calculation rounds...

    Gravity 75 mph Range

Unless he has a third row, then it's 387 (because they round the weight 500lbs...) All the numbers are kinda fake. It will be interesting to see somewhat controlled real world testing. Note that this is wall to wheel efficiency. To get 407mi you would need to get 30kWh/100mi (3.3mi/kWh) battery...

    Gravity 75 mph Range

Wow, those are some good numbers for the X. What Wh/mi is that? Maybe she had traffic? I'm surprised because the X is rated at ~10% more efficient and it got closer to its rating. I would expect them to get the same efficiency since they're the same size, weight, and aero.

    Gravity Bugs / Issues

Probably not. I think they moved the port to the back at the same time they switched to NACS. CCS port Gravity have the port in the front.

    NACS Charging at Tesla SCs

I'm curious what the software team was working on for the last 8 months? How bad was the software on the December deliveries? Seems like the key shortage could be mitigated by getting phone as key working.

Personally I would be tempted to lemon it. 30 days in the shop is enough in CA. Really hoping this thread is dead in a year and I can order one...

    NACS Charging at Tesla SCs

There is no such thing as home CCS, CCS is a DC charging standard (50kW+). I think the Tesla connector uses J1772 signaling for AC charging. With a Tesla to J1772 adapter I can charge my parent's Bolt from my Tesla Wall Connector. As @jered says the 2018 Model 3 does not support CCS or NACS. I...

    $7500 Credit for Gravity Leases

They raised the price $10k... I don't think anyone is worried about selling EVs this quarter, next quarter is going to be a bloodbath.

    Gravity 75 mph Range

Never said it was a bad tire, in fact there may be no tire that is better than it in every way (i.e. it's Pareto optimal*) But, I'm willing to bet the PZ5 has better traction in wet conditions in temperatures above 40F. *Maybe this should be Lucid's slogan instead of "Compromise Nothing" which...

    Gravity 75 mph Range

The point was that tires tuned for efficiency have significantly worse wet weather performance. And that summer tires have excellent wet weather traction as long as it's not too cold. I doubt the Hankook iON evo AS SUV and Hankook evo iON AS have significantly different compounds. If there was...

    $7500 Credit for Gravity Leases

Nope. Somehow the "lease loophole" has no MSRP cap or battery production location requirement. This "lease credit" is sort of silly. The interest rate on Gravity leases is so much higher than Air that it eats up all the "credit" anyway.

    Gravity 75 mph Range

How cold does it get on 17? Summer tires have much higher grip than all-season in wet conditions as long as it's not too cold. High efficiency all-season tires are especially bad in wet conditions. Here are some Tire Rack test results. The Hankook tires were much worse in wet conditions...

Lucid Revealing a New Gravity Variant at Monterey Car Week

It's funny that the engineering team tested the Gravity on some gnarly roads (for a crossover) but the marketing photos are of perfectly graded dirt roads.

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

They probably just set the ride height setting higher and put lower offset wheels on it. I agree with your take on Lucid as a company. It seems like the hardware engineers, Rawlinson included, were focused on the fun innovative stuff at the expense of ignoring the manufacturing side. The...

Lucid Revealing a New Gravity Variant at Monterey Car Week

I guess the marketing team heard from a focus group that it looked too much like a minivan. The coordinates on the hood (36.53230, -116.93250). No idea why they would choose a spot that has no significance where you're not even allowed to drive. Color is cool and I like the look except for the...
