    Supercharger Access Timeline Discussion

We've used that SC in Lone Pine a handful of times when we drive our Mach-E between Vegas and Reno. The more direct route (US-95) is a charging desert for CCS, so we used to have to go all the way down to Barstow then back up 395, adding 2 hours. When we gained SC access, we could cut half of...

    NACS Megathread

Yes. It's a limitation of the Wunderbox in the Air that has to step up 400-500v chargers (like Superchargers) to 900V that the Air battery pack uses. Currently all Tesla V3 and V4 chargers are only 400-500v. The V4 stands are technically capable of 1000v but they're still all powered by V3...

Yeah, not much reason to blanketly send them to everyone for free when few would actually use it.

Lucid Gravity gaining access to Supercharger network, Air access planned for Q2 2025

Ford was the first to gain SC access, and yes, we got free adapters. Which IMO turned out to be a huge mistake. Especially back then, as they had something like 100,000 to distribute to existing Ford EV owners and supply was a big problem. By promising them to everyone for free, everyone want...

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

That's the exact same timing my Denver SA told me a showroom Gravity was due in. Probably the same shipment. Either that or it IS the showroom vehicle that you're now getting instead. I ordered Green too (stealth, 20/21", but with tech package and upgraded suspension). So many people...

Here you go fellas! Lucid Air SC network will be enabled

Yep. It's a limitation of the onboard Lucid Air Wunderbox that steps up the voltage to match the car's 900V pack. It wasn't designed to handle more than 50kW. The Gravity uses a different approach to step up the voltage (via the motor) and can handle max power.

Here you go fellas! Lucid Air SC network will be enabled

That's on the high side. Most tend to be cheaper (40-55c), but of course it varies around the US. Like EA, Tesla also has a monthly membership plan ($12.99/mo) that lowers the price about 25%. But that only works if you start the session via the Tesla app (not Plug & Charge).

Which does vary from station to station, to answer the rest of his original question. Some busier stations even price different rates peak vs off-peak hours thru the day.

    Gravity test drives?

How in-the-way are the A pillars? That seems to be one of the few negatives.

    NACS Megathread

Other charging networks are adding NACS handles too, so even if Tesla suddenly pulled a knee jerk backtrack (which wouldn't make sense because it's significant revenue), Ionna and others will make the switch worthwhile in the long run.

    Gravity test drives?

Honestly, I can't imagine anything in a test drive that would cause me to change my mind. Every drive review raves about it. I just wanna see one in person, sit in it, play with the seats, etc. I know that isn't gonna change my mind either, but I'll save the first drive like it's Christmas...

    Gravity; SUV or Minivan

Oh I agree. When spending big bucks, we want our vehicles to do as much as possible, just in case. I was really referring more to the extreme off-roading (like rock crawling up the side of a hill with a 30 degree slope). I know it's effective advertising to show the extremes, but most...

    Gravity; SUV or Minivan

Yep, I feel the same way about making EVs rocket ships. 3 second 0-60 is just ridiculous overkill for a street vehicle. I don't know if it actually works this way, but I think it would be much more useful to shift that power from acceleration over to range (by using a different gear ratio?)...

    Gravity; SUV or Minivan

I agree. I'm always a little puzzled at how many vehicles are touted for "off-road" prowess, as though it's a huge segment of buyers. Our Bronco Sport was the same way. I don't think it ever touched foot on a dirt road, let alone did a rock crawl. I get that people want their SUVs to be good...

    Gravity; SUV or Minivan

I dunno, I don't really see people thinking of it that way. Not sure anyone gets wrapped up "8 cubic feet", but rather expressing surprise at how they get better legroom in a vehicle that appears to be smaller (and shorter height-wise) than the R1S. It's more of a "Wow, that's surprisingly...

Got a call from my SA today. Said he expects a Gravity on display in the Denver showroom to arrive in about 2 weeks.

    Gravity; SUV or Minivan

While I haven't seen the actual measurements, I think it's more that the Gravity shortens the front end and positions the front row further forward, thus there's more room in the rest of the car. I'd like to see the relative distances from front bumper to the steering wheel for the Gravity vs...

    Lucid partnership

Lucid was never gonna make it long term as a luxury-only brand. It needed some "cheapening", if by that we mean more visibility and broader reach. That's also the goal of the smaller/cheaper model next year. It takes sales volume to survive, and you can't do that with only $80k+ vehicles.
