Satellite Radio/SiriusXM does not work 15-20% of the time

CA is so populous you probably don't have many gaps there. It's a different matter where we frequently do roads trips though, through CO, UT, NV, WY, etc. We go hours without a cell signal, except within 5 miles of a town. I-70 in UT, I-80 in WY, US-95 in NV, all long stretches with long gaps...

Satellite Radio/SiriusXM does not work 15-20% of the time

This really sucks. I didn't realize Lucid's didn't have SXM satellite capability. I just assumed every good car would have it when I ordered a Gravity. 🤬 So what are people listening too on road trips when there's no cell service? I don't wanna have to download a ton of songs to my cell...

    Too Frustrating

Oh shit, I didn't know that!! So no SXM antenna in the Gravity?? Damnit, that's gonna be a huge downgrade for us. This is gonna be our road-tripper vehicle. We use SXM 99.8% of the time. I just assumed any good car would have it built in. 🤬

    Gravity 75 mph Range

We ran into the same thing with the Porsche Macan we bought in June (my partner's car). We wanted the smaller 20" wheels but the closest inventory one we could find to get everything else we wanted had the 22" Sports wheels. We went ahead and bought it, even though it was an extra $4500 for...

Do all GGT have massaging seats?

Turns out it does say massage in the configurator, but not where you actually make the selection to compare options. You select it in INTERIOR (the different seat colors and 12 vs 18-way), but you see the features in SEATING (based on what you chose in INTERIOR). Confusing. Should be detailed...

    Gravity 75 mph Range

It will be curious to see reports from people that have the 450 trim. I know all these EPA range numbers are fuzzy (to say the least). The tires probably don't make a full 10% difference. That seems like too much. If it is less, I suspect it's the 450 that's exaggerated, unfortunately...

Do all GGT have massaging seats?

Since I had to pay the extra $2900 now to get the massage/ventilation/seat trays, I went ahead and upgraded to the Ojai leather seats. Wasn't worth it at +$4200 but at +$1300 it's a viable consideration. Wish I had paid more attention in the studio Monday to those samples. I had already made...

Do all GGT have massaging seats?

And just after I posted that, I got this email from my Denver SA. Damn, another $2900.

Do all GGT have massaging seats?

That's what confused me. A few other references made it sound like it was all GTs, but that makes it sound like only the 18-way seats. Ventilation too. The place I would think would be the clearest would be the detail within the config selection. But while it lists a lot of detail, it fails...

    Gravity 75 mph Range

I finally found those on the Lucid website, doing different build configurations. 3rd row seats cost 13 miles (~3%), larger wheels cost 43 miles (~10%), while both combined cost 64 miles (14%). One of the biggest reasons I'm willing to pay $100k+ for a Gravity is to get mega range in a...

Do all GGT have massaging seats?

I'm trying to confirm whether all Gravity GT have massaging front seats? My order sheet says "12-Way Power Front Seats w/Memory" but no mention of Massage. I've checked as many places as I could find on the Lucid website and it *seems* like all GGT have Massage but it's a little unclear.

    Gravity 75 mph Range

I knew bigger rims lose range, but I didn't realize each size had it's own EPA. 10% range loss is a BIG hit just going from 20/21 to 21/22! Glad I stuck with the 20/21s on my order. But if EPA is 407, then the 2.76 MPK sounds more reasonable.

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

I know it's probably buried in this huge thread somewhere but I couldn't find it. What adapters does the Gravity come with? Do they give us both a J1772-to-NACS and a CCS1-to-NACS?

    Gravity 75 mph Range

Be curious to see what that is the other direction too, dropping 2300'. 2.76 MPK seems fair at mostly 75 MPH for +2300'. But I hope that jumps to at least 3.3 MPK going the other direction. I'd be a little disappointed if it's below 3.0 average at highway speeds. This is the 450 EPA GGT...

    NACS Charging at Tesla SCs

Another little thing I do is save the Tesla website map link (filtered to "NACS Partner" and "Other EV") as an icon on my cell phone home page. Gives me a quick-and-easy lookup to see where the compatible SCs are without having to fumble around much...

    NACS Charging at Tesla SCs

There's some chronically bad stations, to be sure. Green River UT was our most tenuous one for years. It was 100 miles of nothing on either side, along our most frequent route (Denver-Vegas). But even with 1-2 chargers down routinely there, we always got a charge and never got stranded (20+...

    NACS Charging at Tesla SCs

Over the last 5 years, we've done over 60,000 EA road trip miles thru 40 states, mostly using EA. Probably used 200 different EA stations. EA certainly has it's issues, with 1, sometimes 2 chargers down or de-rated at nearly every station. Maybe we've just learned the tricks better than most...

    NACS Charging at Tesla SCs

I find the best place to check is the Tesla website. I like it much better than the app because you can filter and see each type of station. "Tesla (only)" is only usable by Teslas. "NACS partner" is open to any non-Teslas that are authorized to use SCs (like Lucid). "Other EVs" is open...

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

Dennis is my SA in Denver. Surprised they have that many SAs there. We just got back from there to see the Gravity in person for the first time. First impression was how much bigger it is than I was expecting. I knew the dimensions and watched a million videos, so I knew the size, but it's...
