Lease return excess wear & tear

Not sure if I can shout "Good News"... but I just read my complete lease agreement, and, surprisingly, there is no binding arbitration requirement, no mediation clause, and no language compelling disputes to be handled outside court. So I'm free to pursue this with a claim with small claims...

Lease return excess wear & tear

So this means I must go through this process before filing for small claims court action?

Lease return excess wear & tear

Wow. So the company that seems to have sole discretion about how they handle lease return charges that angers large groups of customers and hurts the company’s brand has a financial interest in the company’s stock going down? In fact they benefit in two ways - the operating unit collects these...

Lease return excess wear & tear

Actually, @borski has in fact posted some supportive messages in these threads, and basically has said the Lucid needs to get their act together on this. He also publicly pointed me to the language on Lucid's website about the acceptable wear and tear on wheels for a lease return, NOT to defend...

    Lease return difficulties

THAT is an excellent question. Leads me to wonder if we can find a case where Lucid charged a lessee for minor damage but then sold the car to someone else and didn't actually fix it since it was so minor. like my ridiculous example:

Lease return excess wear & tear

Not sure if others agree, but I wonder if moderators should consider consolidating this thread with these other two so we all have one place to monitor this and if Lucid ever responds there can be one place where we can report it and cheer (or otherwise) the response itself. Other active nearly...

Lease return excess wear & tear

So far there's no evidence that they're really doing anything. I'm one of the ones to whom @marqie posted on the forum that they would reach out. I replied immediately to them with my details (including phone number) and the substance of my issue and have heard nothing more than "we'll be in...

    2026 Air changeover date

Really strange they've announced the 2026s with a bunch of 2025s left to sell, and so far, they're not lowering the price on those. Have they Osborne'd themselves? The topic of this thread is probably no longer of interest to anyone... but I'm interested to see how they get rid of all...

    end of lease process

I should update this to say that @marqie has reached out to me here on the forum, and I've given her my phone and email, but we haven't yet connected. Given that I already have upper management's official "closed" denial of my appeal, it will be interesting to hear what she says. Will report...

    thank you.

    Lease return difficulties

Great. As I officially appealed the decision about my tiny scuff on one wheel directly to Lucid and then was officially denied on this appeal, I'm ready to go to small claims court case to get it resolved. I tried doing it the official way by appealing to Lucid management, and they officially...

    end of lease process

I actually completely agree with you. The price is fair for refinishing, at least here in SF Bay area. That's not the point, however, as this doesn't fit their very clear definition of "excess wear and tear" on wheels that are returned after a lease. A wheel must be "cracked, bent, or broken"...

    Lease return difficulties

as. you can see, just expect to pay for wheel damage at lease end until and unless Lucid officially changes their policy or picks a different lease return inspection company... or is even willing to over-rule their inspectors' reports. There's zero evidence that's the case right now.

    2026 Air changeover date

You’re right. I’d forgotten about that. They should have built up some DDP inventory. Right as there’s an especially good reason to get it.

    2026 Air changeover date

They've kept average Touring price (inventory cars) remarkably stable while raising the prices of Pures and GTs.

    2026 Air changeover date

Whoa, Lucid just released a TON of Airs to the available inventory database... Bunch of new Pure and Tourings, even a handful of new GTs. 87 new cars released in last 24 hours, less 17 that have been sold in that time... Most we've ever seen in inventory... No idea what that means in terms of...

    Lease return difficulties

Here's the official word from Lucid's website about what qualifies as Excess Wear when it comes to wheels: "Wheels that are cracked or bent. Rims that are bent or have breaks (regardless of size)." Here again is the picture of what they are claiming on my wheel is excess wear: I thought it...

    Lease return difficulties

Hadn't considered this, but maybe I should. It's not the $200 I'm out... it's insignificant in the actual amount. It's the principle and in getting management at Lucid to pay attention to what's happening here.

    Lease return difficulties

Unfortuantely, we know the answer already. I appealed my terrible treatment and unfair charges to Lucid Financial, NOT BofA. Lucid management ("Demetrius") offered to take my appeal, and he called back in 5 days with the answer: "Management at Lucid reviewed this... Denied... photos prove the...
