Over a week with Gravity, my thoughts

My wife and I watched it last night. Good video! Thank you for doing it. I've seen and read multiple times that all three power outlets are on individual circuits providing up to 1.8kw each. If you wanted to confirm, you could plug in two hair dryers and run them both at full blast 😊

    Gravity Bugs / Issues

A related question: is the profile switch quicker than in the Air? When we rented an Air, switching back and forth was a pain.

Please, would you jump in with my baggage?

Charging from 80% to 100% will take roughly the same time (or longer) as charging from 10%-80%. I'm curious where you were that there wasn't a charger in 400+ miles? You will spend much less time charging on the road if you plan charging stops at closer to 10-20%. (No matter what EV you...

So I've got the FOB batteries, the Faraday pouches, the floor mats, the phone charging pad, and the ceramic coating. The only thing I need is...

When I was last replacing my Model X fob battery (CR 2354) I learned: * The numbers indicate the dimensions of the battery: * First two digits are the diameter in mm. * The rest are the height in 0.1 mm. * CR 2354 batteries come in two shapes: single cylinder and two cylinders stacked...

Windshield has condensation in hot weather

We had this on our cars in Maryland in the hot humid summers. AC cools the windshield and moisture condenses on the outside. Annoying as all heck. Same thing with glasses. Go outside from an AC environment and my glasses would instantly fog over.

    LCID stock comparison to TSLA

I used to agree with this. But then Musk tried to make it an Everything company and they lost the focus that made them a market leader. In their core business they are in danger of losing the formidable lead they had. I jumped out of TSLA when it became clear Musk was a loose cannon. The stock...

    Tesla Supercharger Updates?

For charging from Level 2 NACS, look for a NACS to J1772 Adapter. The upper, round portion on the CCS1 connector is identical to the J1772 connector. CCS1 adds the DCFC DC power pins. Not quite correct. L2 charging is 240V AC to the car (208V in commercial installations due to 3-phase AC). The...

    Miles/Kwh

Once the Air gets Tesla access, it adds a few more locations in that area. They may be limited to 50kW for the Air, but better than L1 & L2. Gravity will be able to use them at full speed.

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

My Tesla experience doesn't go quite back to 2013...but even 5 years later my X had plenty of bugs. I remember rebooting to get cellular connectivity back. On one of my cross country trips, both screens turned off. I pulled to the side of the freeway and a few minutes later it had rebooted...

What's your internal temp high score?

Tesla has an over-temp protection on by default that limits internal temp to about 100°F. I'm wondering if Lucid has thought of implementing something like that?

Please, would you jump in with my baggage?

I'm not yet a Lucid owner, waiting in the queue for Gravity Dream Edition. I've been an early adopter, making the transition from gas to electric in steps that made sense at the time. * 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid * 2013 Ford CMAX Energi PHEV * 2018 Tesla Model X * 2023 Wife got Mustang Mach-E GT...

    New Lucid Air Pure

I concur with @borski. I wanted to clarify one thing that he alludes to here. Continuous use circuits (any load run for 4 hours or more) are not allowed to use more than 80% of the rated ampacity of the circuit. * NEMA 14-50 can have either a 40A or 50A circuit breaker, meaning one can use...

    OTA Update 2.7.0

I have a suggestion for the two phones plugged in for charging. You can get charge-only USB-C cables. You can plug the phone you don't want AA on via a charge-only cable. Then it will get power but not have the data connection to trigger AA.

    Leather Seat Cover Recommendation

Some seat covers will interfere with air bag deployment. A quick search indicates that they need to be specifically designed for compatibility. My thoughts would be: * Take care of the leather seats * Enjoy them * Only worry about "what if" if they start having problems. Sometimes having a...

    New Lucid Air Pure

Having both a Tesla (NACS) and Mustang Mach-E (J1772), we installed a pair of Tesla Universal Wall Connectors. They are native NACS and have a built-in J1772 adapter that works similarly to the MagicDock chargers. Just push a button on the adapter when removing the cable from the holster and the...
