Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Touring

Stek hasn't made dynoFlex for over a year. I would question as to wether or not they are actually installing that or something from ClearShield, GeoShield or Madico. Windshield Protection Film does work but its not for cars that see a ton of daily driver usage. They have some orange peel and can...

Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Touring

Thanks for the tag! Hopefully this helps. I think that you vastly underestimate the level of difficulty installing PPF. Installing paint protection film, even in kit form, is extremely difficult. The use of a plotter is also standard practice, as doing bulk installs often requires disassembly...

To ppf, or not to ppf. This is the question.

Yeah, PPF doesn't suck. That shop that did that install sucks that's for certain. The shop you choose directly affects the outcome of your PPF and how it looks over time. In addition, you also need to be willing to accept that no PPF installation will ever be 100% perfect. EVER. If you can't...

Matte paint is extremely expensive to do correctly. It's also impossible to just repaint one panel. Its an extremely cost-heavy task for a new auto manufacturer.

    Hydrophobic coating for windshield?

Not necessarily the direction as much as it is ceramic coating the blades too. You also need to use a specific Glass coating. (We use Ceramic Pro Glass)

    Preparing for PPF, ceramics, etc...

Paint Protection Film, even ones that are "ceramic coated" do not replace traditional coatings. The top coat is infused with ceramic particles to add rigidity and boost gloss. They do not add any slickness. Film manufacturers use that as a marketing gimmick. They all do it. Simply put - if...

    Preparing for PPF, ceramics, etc...

Most "spray" coatings are simply low-quality products and do not hold up. If you wanted a "spray coating" you could do Gyeon CanCoat or Gtechniq C2V3 but these only have a lifespan of about 6 months. You could get a 2-3 coating for $800-$1000 somewhere from a professional shop.

    PPF Advice Please

We install PPF in a single piece on these hoods constantly. It can be done with no problem, but the shop needs to be willing to do it and be comfortable with stretching the film. Its possible. Very possible. Find another shop.

    Preparing for PPF, ceramics, etc...

There isn't anything out of the ordinary in regards to PPF/detail. A reputable PPF/detail shop knows how to deal with PPF on these cars. Regarding the windshield tint, I know that it required some disassembly and that trying to do it without disassembly was a complete nightmare. We just did a...

    Wrap corner quality?

Wrapping pointy corners is hard. It requires an extreme stretch of the material. In most cases its not recommended because with age, since the film is stretched so much the wrap eventually peels back. No vinyl wrap job or PPF job will ever be perfect or seamless unless the vehicle has been...

Does all Lucid owners apply extra care (PPF, ceramics etc.)?

Thank you. I just want to try and give real feedback and education on this stuff. There are so many people out here that will spit venom on how it isn't worth it or its not worth it because XYZ. I just want everyone to be educated.

Does all Lucid owners apply extra care (PPF, ceramics etc.)?

So the roof/glass can get ceramic coated. You can also get windshield protection film installed but to be totally honest, the technology isn't there for that. It gets cloudy over time and I'm not a fan.

Does all Lucid owners apply extra care (PPF, ceramics etc.)?

Spending upwards of $10k and up will get you closer to "perfect". Either way - you should avoid wanting to paint your car regardless. This is the correct advice. PPF is only really prone to peeling if your installer stretches film beyond its limits and isn't thinking about the long-term...
