    Air touring configuration

If BMW prices the iX wrongly and margins crater it won't materially affect financials. If Lucid prices Air wrongly it could make quarterly results look atrocious vs projections. That wouldn't put Lucid in immediate danger of insolvency but could hinder a return to capital markets to raise more...

    New Tesla Issues

Neither have most Tesla owners. Tesla just consistently has a few more defects per car. And news outlets love publishing any problem/fire with Tesla. Because it gets clicks. Anecdotal data is bovine feces. We should look at the best available scientifically valid data. Consumer Reports,JD...

    New Tesla Issues

Most people are prone to confirmation bias. I see it here too. People give more weight to positive than negative reviews. Almost no modern cars have such poor quality they leave owners on the side of the road. Or are dangerous to own This is also true of Tesla. I saw a CR tester test FSD...

    New Tesla Issues

CR subscribers that buy a new Tesla at the beginning of a model year was quite low for a long time. As time has gone on this has grown. But as CR becomes ever more critical of Tesla my guess is the percentage of Tesla owners that are CR subscribers will go down.

    New Tesla Issues

Consumer Reports requires a minimum sample size of 200 per model year for each vehicle. Tesla refuses to give CR access to Tesla registered owners through DMV list that require OEM permission. California is a State that requires OEM permission. Tesla says they are protecting Tesla owners...

    Lucid Technology

The EPA required 114 kWh to fill a nominally 100 kWh(104 kWh gross) Model S for their test. Tesla Superchargers don't charge for kWh lost to charging losses. 118 kWh x 1.14= 134.52 The fact that Tesla gives away electricity at their Superchargers doesn't make their cars more efficient.

    Touring model configuration

Just about all OEMs charge different prices for different wheel/tire packages. Most OEMs have various prices for colors. Tesla is rare in that they used to have only 1 no upcharge color. Now for 3/Y they have two no upcharge colors and 3 upcharge colors. Most OEMs will have ~5 no upcharge...

    Dream edition video reviews

I don't know any of the auto review/BEV news Utube channels that have ordered a Lucid. Several have ordered a Rivian. Kyle from Out of Spec Motoring has been promised access ASAP from a Dream reservation holder in South Florida who happens to be good friends with his dad.

More than a passing resemblance to the Lucid Air?

Foxconn doesn't know sh!t about building a car. Their expertise is light industry. Phones and computers are not cars. I can't show you examples of Apples failures from the future. ;) But I guarantee there will be. I am not an Apple fan or anti-fan. All companies are made of people and people...

More than a passing resemblance to the Lucid Air?

I wouldn't overestimate the power of the Apple brand. Macintosh TV,Pippin, Newton,G4 Cube,Antennagate,Bendgate,AirPower Neither you nor I have a crystal ball. No one knows for sure about the future of the automotive market. I very much doubt Apple will have 80% of the profits with only...

More than a passing resemblance to the Lucid Air?

It seems Apple is working on itty bitty inner city robotaxi pods. Not premium sedans,CUVs or SUVs. 20% of people love Apple,30% of people hate Apple, the rest are indifferent. Similar to Tesla. In 2035 I doubt any company has more than 10% automotive market share. There is plenty of space...

    Road and Track review

Kyle has an unconfirmed pre-order on the Taycan Cross Turismo. Which he said he may cancel in favor of the Rivian. Didn't mention pickup or SUV. I guess Lucid could have benchmarked Rolls Royce for NVH, Bugatti for Performance and Tesla for Efficiency. And offered a vehicle for a fraction of...

    Road and Track review

Nothing will change the narrative until Tesla has less than ~33% market share or is #2 in market share in a given segment. Then it will change the narrative for that segment.

    Road and Track review

Lucid is targeting MB. The ICE S-Class was the best vehicle they had to purchase at the time Lucid was engineering the Air. They couldn't buy an in development EQS at the time. I guess they could have benchmarked the Rolls-Royce Ghost. But kinda pointless since it is several price classes...

    Road and Track review

Tesla is the 800 lbs Gorilla in the EV Space. Every EV over $35k is going to be compared to a Tesla. Even some below that price. Mercedes has AMG and Lexus has F Sport. Doesn't mean they aren't luxury marques. Lucid can say we are competing against S Class, Lexus LS and BMW 7 Series. Auto...
