Proof that big Tesla bulls shorted Lucid and want Lucid to fail

True. It's also possible to borrow shares and not sell them. A borrower may want to vote them, for example. Mostly false. It's not possible to "disrupt the supply of real shares". Borrowing shares doesn't create more shares, nor does selling short. The number of outstanding shares remains...

Proof that big Tesla bulls shorted Lucid and want Lucid to fail

Since every transaction requires a willing buyer and a willing seller, market transactions are always in equilibrium. Sellers don't disrupt an equilibrium any more than buyers do. The US Treasury, which borrows trillions of dollars, facilitates the actions of short sellers through repo...

NEMA vs Lucid Charging Station vs Tesla Wall Connector

My experience is that utility-based voltage surges never happen.

    Securities Lending

There are rational arguments for and against securities lending. Lots of institutional investors give their custodians a blanket authorization to lend out all their securities. OTOH, I remember when I worked at Goldman, the bond traders had a list of Treasuries they wouldn't lend out. But I'd...

"Practical" range on road trips is about 50% of EPA estimate for most EVs

Goodhart's Law: "When a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure." This applies to EPA mileage tests: manufacturers configure their cars to perform well on the tests. Performing well in the real world is a different problem.

    Securities Lending

For those of you who own LCID, you may wish to lend out your shares. Lately, the rate has been about 9%. Of course, there are arguments against lending, but on balance I decided it was worth it.

"Practical" range on road trips is about 50% of EPA estimate for most EVs

I'm glad someone finally made this point: that the power required is proportional to V³, not V². Thank you!

    EA is Improving

Here in Massachusetts, I installed a rooftop 18kw array about 4 years ago, along with three Powerwalls. There's no way it would have made economic sense without the massive 30% tax credit from the Feds and the state, and the ongoing subsidy from the utility. Not even close. The utility...

NEMA vs Lucid Charging Station vs Tesla Wall Connector

I have the newish Tesla Universal Wall Connector on a 60-amp breaker. I use it to charge my Model S and my Air Touring. Works well. https://shop.tesla.com/product/universal-wall-connector

Road Tripping on EVs and Gas-based Cars, A Perspective.

In early January I rented a Model Y LR and drove from Santa Rosa to Las Vegas and Death Valley. No problem charging (Superchargers) except at Death Valley. The Inn at Furnace Creek has two Level 2 chargers, but both were/are INOP. The Ranch at Furnace Creek has four Level 2 chargers, but 2...

Tesla blamed drivers for failures of parts it long knew were defective

Fair enough. 1) The article consists of talking with specific owners about specific problems, and the owners blame Tesla. That happens with every car company, and we know that sometimes it's the owner's fault, and sometimes not. Remember the sudden acceleration issues? It turns out the...

Tesla blamed drivers for failures of parts it long knew were defective

I read the Reuters story as just another biased hit piece. Sorry, but I've seen too much media malpractice to take this seriously.

FEATURE Introducing RangeXChange V2V charging for Lucid

Just to be clear, this is just one-way charging, right? IOW, I can't use this to charge my Lucid from my Tesla.

    Vehicle to Home

We have a similar setup here in Massachusetts: 18kw solar array, 3 Powerwalls. But I find that I'm SOL if we lose power in the winter for more than 36 hours. You guys in San Diego are probably fine indefinitely! A solar array doesn't make economic sense up here in the Northeast without the...

    Winter Tire PSI

Here's what I do in the winter: I want my Pirelli 19" tires to be at the recommended 49 psi when it's 32° outside. My garage tends to be around 50°. So I inflate my tires to 51 psi in the garage. Easy rule of thumb, huh? If it's 10° or 20° outside, I'll live with the slight underinflation...

    Winter Tire PSI

No, just keep it at the recommended 42 psi. My point was that in cold weather you'll need to add air to maintain 42 psi.

    Winter Tire PSI

This protocol is incorrect. The tires should be inflated to 49 when cold, i.e. when sitting outside. After some freeway driving, they should be well above 50 psi. I add air as the weather gets cold, since psi drops with temperature: very roughly, about 1 psi per 10°.
