Gravity: to Reserve or Not to Reserve?

It seems like a tri motor version would be a Sapphire version. 1111 with 2 motors is plenty, says the guy with a Sapphire.😂

    Vehicle to Home

The above is very misleading. This topic has been discussed in more technical manner in https://lucidowners.com/threads/lucid-bi-directional-charging-as-a-home-power-source V2G is highly regulated. Vehicle supplying 240V or 120V for owner to use as they see fit is different.

    Metal vs Glass roof

I’m 6’2 and I have not noticed any difference in headroom between glass and metal roofs. I like the all glass roof, but also don’t miss it when I’m driving the metal roof. In general I think the metal roof is nice when the sun is overhead, and the glass is nice when it is not. Headroom...

Has anyone replaced tires on Lucid Air?

I’ll see if I can get information direct from Michelin. I got the 21s on my DE from Michelin and they know they are on a Lucid.

    Real Life Range

I have been doing the above as well. For me the number is 3.5 miles per 1% of charge. Has been very accurate for me.

    EV charging education

I am very happy with Lucid's announcement regarding NACS and how they are going to implement. Discussion on this site where there are many people who are charging and are informed or are seeking more information only reinforced in my mind that there is much work to be done to inform the...

    Engineering Explained discussing the Sapphire

I appreciate everyone who buys a Porsche SUV, a BMW SUV, a Lamborghini SUV, a Ferrari SUV, an Aston Martin SUV, and most certainly a Lucid SUV, if it helps those companies continue to build the cars I want.

    Engineering Explained discussing the Sapphire

Much larger addressable market for sure. I am very interested to see the trims and price points. I’m very happy with the Sedan, but with the SUV I know I can convince more people to give Lucid a look.

Has anyone replaced tires on Lucid Air?

I think the Michelin 21s do a lot without buying rims if you already have 21s. That said, I have Michelin 20s on the BMW V12 and no complaints there. The Sapphire 20/21 combo is pretty nice. First long road trip coming up next week.

    Engineering Explained discussing the Sapphire

The DE performance even with 1111 hp can not beat the Plaid. Could Lucid put a dual motor in the back of an Air Grand touring and beat the Plaid. Yes. I‘m so glad they did it right. The Sapphire is the “M” version. It is just as much or more better than an Air GT as an M5 comp is over a 550i...

Why America’s EV chargers keep breaking .... article on Politico website

400 miles is pretty easy for the Lucid. Charge to 100% at home. Stop early around 50% charge to 80%. That gives you options. With a level 2 at hotel you would only need 1 fast charger stop each way.

Has anyone replaced tires on Lucid Air?

I’ve been told the 20” sapphire 265 will fit on the front of other airs. You could run a square set up. Would decrease range. Also the Michelins for the 21s are designed for EV.

Lucid Party @ Gravity Reveal-LA AutoShow November, 2023?

Planning to fly in Friday afternoon to have a few hours at the show before Lucid event. Then out Saturday. I hate to miss a convoy of Lucids driving in. That will be awesome.

    NACS Megathread

NACS will be a standard. The SAE Hybrid - EV committee is expected to release standard J3400 by the end of the year. The standard is widely expected to include 1000v charging. CCS1 is primarily North America. Europe uses CCS2 which has a different plug than CCS1. There will of course be CCS...

    NACS Megathread

Not a good analogy. When you can instal a charger that works for all cars you will have the largest possible addressable market. Included free charging will go away and charging stations will compete for business. Who has bought a car with included gasoline? When Teslas or any other EV do not...
