[RESOLVED] Yikes! at 107 Miles and now - what seems like a significant system meltdown on my new Air.

I would not call this "resolved". A customer with a set of symptoms of the root cause has had those symptoms addressed, but the root problem still exists... waiting to snare another customer.

[RESOLVED] Yikes! at 107 Miles and now - what seems like a significant system meltdown on my new Air.

That is a great description of a failure of basics for updating software... it is really quite old hat (basic OTA update 101) to have something (as simple as a parts list and check sum(s)) on an update to insure that it all has arrived in one piece. That this software system can "update" with a...

Poll: Curious about owners experience with issues with their Lucids

And thus we have identified another software constant that should be an externalized driver profile setting...

    Phone Sound Quality

There are lots of 3rd party sites which make such feature comparisons between software products all the time. And I have worked for (major within their niche) software companies which regularly asked the products' customers to give them input on where to invest effort in terms of both new...

    Vampire Drain

We've been running an (involuntary, 20 days into ownership we were tail ended, putting the car into a body shop) little experiment of letting our AGT sit idle (other than periodically poking at it to see the current State of Charge). We are currently 45 days into this experiment, which started...

    Drive System Fault

If the sw (& hw) was doing the job, we wouldn't have "don't know" type responses... been there, cleaned up messes like these.

    Drive System Fault

This looks to me to be another example of bad software. The software noted something to cause it to pop that warning, and there needs (in EVERY such case) to be a log entry made with a unique indicator of what test in the software failed (along with lots of other diagnostic information).

    Insurance Megathread

Note that I believe unlike many insurance companies, State Farm is "mutualized" (I believe that roughly translates into "owned by the policy holders"), and thus has incentive to keep prices low (while still running a successful business). I am currently waiting on my GT's return after (20 days...

Just got your Air? Common questions answered!

This may vary by state, I know demo cars could (1958, NYS) be sold as new if they are under 5000 miles. All still had to be declared to the buyer.

    Insurance Megathread

$1600/6mo is $3200/yr, only $400 less... the insurance difference between Pure & GT is not really all that great, and mostly things that insurance would never see a claim on: software, integrated stereo, etc... the larger battery is the primary difference: fire, major accident which likely leads...

What would you like to see from the Lucid mobile app?

All I've had as of late is the mobile app (while the car is in the body shop)... and I realized that it is really strange that the tire pressure screen displays those "--"... well, ok, the car doesn't know them until it is moving... but how often will a user be checking this when the car is...

Key FOB procedures for Opening Trunk and Frunk

Bingo... I have put it in a contact entry of "Lucid Hints", as they all seem to be black magic acts...

Key FOB procedures for Opening Trunk and Frunk

Touch the icon that opens it and it should close an open one... though I find the frunk's operation is a bit flaky (sometimes it opens, sometimes not).

Passenger door handle broken / grinding

My mind immediately went back to a childhood campfire song... "Who's that knocking at my door... who's that knocking at my door... who's that knocking at my door? Said Barnacle Bill the sailor..."

    Issues on brand new car

Good software would have put up a notice on the pilot screen to that effect, not just refuse to do the operation silently... I have reported similar "silent failures/refusals" to customer support on other issues too... the software team needs to learn to consider that there is ultimately a human...

    Spare tire

Elsewhere I posted this: https://lucidowners.com/threads/has-anyone-replaced-tires-on-lucid-air.854/page-3#post-73962 (but then failed to point at any one specific calculator... there are many)... Just did a quick google and see this one (that will yield you the diameters given the other...

Mobile key is non functional and valet card is completely unreliable

Since upgrade from Android 12 to 13 I am finding that my S22+ seems to no longer be killing background processes... I base this on my usage of AccuBattery whose background monitor was often killed on 12 (sometimes multiple times a day), but seems to be stable today on 13. Unfortunately I don't...

Drive System Fault - Car stopped dead in the middle of the road

It is actually very old... remember automatic transmissions "on the column" (p/r/n/d)... The issue is not if this is a good and reasonable method of shifting, it is that the wiper control is patently unsafe as currently delivered (you have to take your eyes off the road to use it)... an...
