    Well that spectacularly backfired

True. Last year, Toyota sold 220,200 cars in Saudi Arabia. It still survives without taking money from Saudi Arabia but with less profits.

    Well that spectacularly backfired

Toyota is a for-profit company, so yes, it does need money. They want to do business with Saudi Arabia. But their method of getting money is: It's more profitable for established car companies to import into the country than take time to build the car manufacturing infrastructure from...

    Possibility of $7500 Gov't hand out going away . . . thoughts ? ?

High-priced luxury cars with many owners who are not poor enough to qualify for subsidies. "Lucid, amongst all the EV makers, is really the most immune from that." Lucid CEO Says EV Maker Mostly Immune If Trump Nixes Tax Credit

    Well that spectacularly backfired

Saudi Arabia has a Vision 2030 and wants to have a car manufacturer. It has asked Toyota and others to help it achieve this goal, but all refused because the country has no car parts manufacturing infrastructure. The only one who accepts the challenge is Lucid. Thus, paying Lucid to help with...

    Well that spectacularly backfired

I bought a Tesla car in 2012 because it had the best range then. When I heard Lucid got a better range, I didn't hesitate to buy a Lucid at all. The "range" and "tech" talk has persuaded me successfully. It's a good thing that Lucid is transparent with its financial strength. It's strong as...

    Software Update 2.5

You've been familiar with the blending physical and regenerative braking triggered by a physical brake pedal from other brands. With Lucid, to trigger a regenerative braking, you only need a passively change in speed and not relying on any physical pedal.

    Software Update 2.5

There are about 16,000 crashes due to pedal misapplication. In a panic, they would press on what they swear is "the brake pedal," but the more they press, the quicker the car lurches forward. In a one-pedal system, in a panic, don't press on any pedal at all if you want to stop. When you...

    Possibility of $7500 Gov't hand out going away . . . thoughts ? ?

The program NEVI has awarded $2.5 out of 5 billion for the goal of 500,000 chargers. Trump can take the remaining $2.5 billion away but not the other one that was already spent.

    Software Update 2.5

I am from Tesla, and its regen is not as strong as Lucid's. I love regen. The stronger, the better. I prefer one-pedal driving because it's intuitive. If I don't press on the accelerator, it should decelerate and stop without pressing on the brake.

    Possibility of $7500 Gov't hand out going away . . . thoughts ? ?

True. If imported EVs get tariffs, then building EVs in the US makes sense. If the goal of the next administration is to depress EVs to promote burning fossils, and if imported EV components (computers, screen displays, batteries, nuts and bolts...) get tariffs, building EVs in the US will...

    Possibility of $7500 Gov't hand out going away . . . thoughts ? ?

That was the old law that limits the first 200,000 EV for each car company. New law has no limits of eligible EVs. It's a buffet! Yes. No subsidies mean higher prices. True, they don't qualify for subsidies. Rivian does get a $3,750 tax rebate on the spot. BMW, Mercedes don't qualify for...

Get your EV tax credit while you can

Yes, abolishing EV subsidies has been disclosed for years. The disclosure is the same as abolishing Obama Care. Also, free trade with Mexico should be repealed with 100% tariffs (That's why Tesla was smart enough to pause Mexico's gigafactory plan). These disclosures are not secrets.

    Charging at NACS Superchargers

The only native NACS port for Lucid is Gravity, which will be released by the end of the year. That will only happen when Tesla allows the Lucid fleet to access its Superchargers. Right now, they only allow 5 car brands but not Lucid. Those 5 car brands didn't provide the adapter (free or...

This is the list from tesla.com/NACS: It does not have Lucid listed. You heard about the layoff of the entire Supercharger team which may not help to get Lucid on the list quicker.

    Non Lucid home charger

It's quite an industry practice that they don't support competitors' brands. If you bought a non-Tesla wheel and TPMS, Tesla would not touch them. That said, Lucid does support J-1772 protocol so any competitor brands that support that same protocol should work. When it doesn't, you need to...

Car will not update. Lucid says needs new telematics module not covered by warranty. Is this normal?

I think the thread started because Lucid's explanation doesn't make sense. I don't think a bone is needed. Lucid needs to explain why the service center said the car still has the warranty, but the non-communicating telematics module issue could be resolved for a price. I don't think there's...
