Airplane Prop Sound at 50 mph

It took them a whole 5 mins to fix it. All the did is glue small rubber rectangles in place to keep the flaps from vibrating. I haven't driven the car yet, but the leaf blower test was successful. He also said the rubber block that's in the vent near the headlight (pictured in an earlier...

    Charger FAQ/Explanation

For charging overnight, 40 amp is fine. While moving to 80 amp certainly speeds up charging, I did it for the eventual V2H functionality whenever it's available. I will add, 80 amp has been handy for my wife charging her Model S in the morning when she forgets to plug it in at night. It can...

Airplane Prop Sound at 50 mph

Good question, that's the number that was on the sheet they sent me to sign off on the repairs. I guess that doesn't mean it's right, it seems pretty generic actually. 123-01-01? Sounds like a default or something.

First Test Drive Review - Out of Spec Dave

I have a lot of complaints about the Out of Spec vids, but I think this was pretty fair. He even said the field of vision was really good, which I hear as a common complaint and I sometimes have issues with. Them not letting him film may have been due to this being a normal test drive and not a...

Airplane Prop Sound at 50 mph

That makes no sense since I can recreate this sound with a parked car and a leaf blower... :) Maybe that was someone else's original complaint and it ended up being the air channel instead.

[Edmunds] TESTED: 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring Misses EPA Range by Nearly 80 Miles

Also, Edmunds uses the default regen setting, which might affect things if that’s low regen.

[Edmunds] TESTED: 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring Misses EPA Range by Nearly 80 Miles

Do you know if he set the tire pressures correctly in his test? It almost seems like there's a weird difference on some cars where they're not as efficient.

Airplane Prop Sound at 50 mph

Yeah, they're coming out next week, TSB-E0123-001-01. I was told they're going to install some sort of blocks inside the channels which seems odd. I would love to be able to read the TSB.

[Edmunds] TESTED: 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring Misses EPA Range by Nearly 80 Miles

It has nothing to do with Edmunds' test method, but keep in mind that the "since last charge" trip meter measures different things than the two that you manually reset. Things like pre-warming the car and sitting in park will be measured on "since last charge" and not affect Trip 1 and 2.

It's officially tax time are people going to claim the tax credit from the expired version of the tax code?

Rivian seems to think that “confirming” the order before the bill was signed qualifies now based on new IRS guidance. Ev credit for Rivian with binding contract update email The IRS has released guidance on how taxpayers with valid written binding contracts signed on or before August 15...

Airplane Prop Sound at 50 mph

My service guy said to leave it and they'll remove it, something about it being part of the light bar. Hopefully it's something that can be done remotely. IIRC, a light bar replacement requires taking the whole front off which requires recalibrating everything at a SC.

Airplane Prop Sound at 50 mph

To circle back on this, I found the culprit by taking my electric leaf blowing and blowing around the front of the car. The problem is the rubber membrane you see in the headlight air channels when you open the frunk. The driver's side is catching air in such a way that it makes the sound...

iPhone MagSafe mount to replace OEM charging pad.

Damn that's a beautiful and elegant solution, so much better than destroying trim with adhesives or putting things in dumb places by sticking them to a vent.

    12 V vs. 48 V

I understand the "lower resistive losses" argument, but what % of the energy is lost in 12v compared to 48v? Thinner wires are lighter and cheaper, but doesn't that increase resistive losses compared to the thicker ones, negating some of the gains? I'm certainly not against something like...
