Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

If you keep honking the horn maybe that be an incentive for them to get the car on a hauler and out of the lot.

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

Bill writers are likely organizations that are anagrams of MG, DORF, and EUA

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

The Equinox, Blazer, Cybertruck and Silverado are not being sold yet though. Also I’m not sure if anyone knows for sure yet which current models meet the % requirements for battery raw materials sourcing, and battery assemble. The bigger thing that few people are talking about is the fact that...

    Air Pure reservations

Where do you get the info on how these cars are classified? Do you know if this is an official EPA classification or something else? It seems to me there could be a lot of grey area. In the old days an “SUV” was essentially a body-on-frame pickup with enclosed rear to provide more passenger...

Rivian lays off 6% of its workforce

Rivian has a lot more money in the bank but have been going through it way too fast. It does seem like they got a little ahead of themselves expanding. Lucid has to be more than 4,000 now. They were 3,900 end of 2021- a time when they only delivered 125 cars in a quarter and averaged 3 cars...

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

This is a new bill that is fresh.

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

Expectation is this will be signed into law before end of year and apply beginning 2023. Of course this will all be derailed if any other dems have issues with provisions in the bill (Sinema?)

7500 EV tax credit update with new bill

They are working on a smaller car so this will certainly give them a price target to design too. SUV limit is $80k but I can’t see them bringing the Gravity below that.

    Federal Tax Credit?

I hope you are right (per my above post, given order confirmation has an “out” for the purchaser I’m not positive it qualifies). If it does I hope Lucid offers my Pure order confirmation before that point (not holding up much hope though).

    Federal Tax Credit?

Agree. Although what specifically happens at order confirmation? I understand that deposit becomes non-refundable but my read is that would not be a “binding contract to purchase” as the purchaser can still chose to cancel. In other words the agreement between Lucid and purchaser gives purchaser...

    charging at EA

Actually VW is going to keep paying his CEO salary until 2025 (end of his contract term). Then he will probably get a big severance :) On a serious note I’m not sure this is a good thing for VWs transition to electric. It seemed like Diess was the one really taking EVs seriously.

Dream Drive versus Dream Drive Pro

No one has level 5 and I think realistically to get to that point (autonomous driving in any condition, anywhere) we would be talking timeframes of decades not years. Both due to the technical challenges and the approvals needed. Mercedes is hoping to have Level 3 on select freeways in CA and...

1-Million-Mile Tesla Owner Orders a Lucid Air

It’s an average of almost 350 miles per day. Just crazy for anything short of a long distance trucker.

    Federal Tax Credit?

Lucid is going to be under a lot of pressure by a lot of order holders to get their cars delivered by 12/31/22!!!

    Quarterly Earnings report

Expect an announcement of something “exciting” shortly before earnings release (last quarter it was announcement for GT Performance). Maybe this time it will be finalization of Touring specs and giving a hard date for beginning Touring deliveries.

Late July 2022 Musk Hinting Tesla Bankruptcy Again….

The Twitter deal is explicitly not contingent on financing so killing finance sources would hurt him alone.

Late July 2022 Musk Hinting Tesla Bankruptcy Again….

The June article seems to be reporting on a May interview. I’m not really sure why Elon is the CEO- it seems like he isn’t interested in being a CEO (or whatever he calls it). I think Tesla would not exist in any form close to what it is now were he never in the picture but he can still be...

Late July 2022 Musk Hinting Tesla Bankruptcy Again….

Yea I’m not sure what the source is on the original post. He made comments in May that new factories are money furnaces until they ramp, on top of Covid shutdown, so maybe it was that. Even given that, they are printing money…just less of it in Q2 than Q1. I agree it’s just to keep media attention.

BMW Heated Seats Subscription Costs $18 Per Month

Looks like it will be after 8 years. I’m getting sick of micro subscriptions- Apple Music, Tidal, Netflix, Apple TV…etc. etc. etc. Once it gets into heated seats and nav I’m definitely looking into hacks. Note BMW tried charging monthly for CarPlay… around 2018 I think. There was so much...

    Not in Turtle Mode, yet

Awww man- sorry. Washer fluid probably unlikely per your reasoning. Limited options for fluids in an EV so coolant, drive unit lubrication, or brake fluid would be main culprits. Does the driver’s display show any sort of brake error?
