Interference from airport equipment and CarPlay

Well, this is wild. I drove past the same spot today after the 2.2.2 update, waited for the inevitable audio stutter… and the stutter never happened. I’ll check again when I go by but I’m baffled by the idea that a software fix might have fixed radio interference. On top of that, after I made...

App is slow to wake car

Sorry - I ought to have been more clear - I think something may be wonky with the _cell_ modems in the cars. - T

App is slow to wake car

What continues to baffle me is how the car wakes up the garage like an overeager puppy if I walk in with my phone “key”, but is generally slow when out and about. I assume that Bluetooth is Bluetooth is Bluetooth regardless of location… Incidentally, the fact that wake-up via Bluetooth is fast...

App is slow to wake car

Given that most 2FA SMS codes arrive quickly enough when using most websites’s login UIs, I can’t help wondering if there’s just a bad lag or bug in the wake-up process itself. - T

Has anyone replaced tires on Lucid Air?

After experiencing a _fifth_ tire issue (bubble on the front passenger sidewall)... I'm exercising my AT/DT warranty (and the Pirelli OEM warranty if it applies) to replace that again. - T

OTA 2.1.52 and new GPS issues

I’ve observed a weird glitch in the GPS system after receiving OTA 2.1.52 where twice now the GPS has drifted off position by what looks like a few tens of yards. My passenger got a photo of the display the first time (2024-02-10) in which the car thinks it’s on a side street parallel to the...

FYI: Soft logo reset + profile logout/in fixed seat prefs

I noticed this week that the Restore buttons on the seat and steering settings remained greyed out even after moving the wheel and seats around. I ran into this problem before and required a service appointment to get it fixed. This time around, a logo reset + logging out and back into my...

Has anyone replaced tires on Lucid Air?

Echoing @AnthonyInCO, America’s Tire / Discount Tire has been my go-to. Honest service, competitive pricing, and … walkable from my house. AT/DT (that would be a great cover band name) will also patch tires for free. Cynics will argue that it’s a ruse to get you in the door, but they’ve patched...

Has anyone replaced tires on Lucid Air?

I can't type. I meant in the other direction. I've considered switching to 20" rims. Specifically to give my car more cushioning against potholes. (facepalm) - T

Has anyone replaced tires on Lucid Air?

Yes. We didn't have a particularly cold winter 2022-23, but we had a lot of rain, followed by a lot of potholes. I should really have submitted a claim form to the state (it was a state road) but never got around to it and don't have any photos to prove the damage. I've considered switching to...

Has anyone replaced tires on Lucid Air?

I think it's fair to feel aggrieved about having bubbled tires on what I assume is a relatively new Lucid. I experienced two blowouts and two bubbled tires due to winter-worn roads in both Northern (Bay Area) and Southern (LA) California. Worse, after the first blowout, I was stuck without my...

Software Improvements Wanted- please weigh in!

I'll second you on the lock/unlock lag. The only time the guaranteed not to be a lag is if I'm puttering back and forth between the kitchen and garage; then, the car locks and unlocks and locks like a dog begging for a walk. I'll go one better: I'd like one permanent home link button somewhere...

    Driver seat restoring to profile

The 2.1.3 update added an “easy entry” option to slide the front seats back (and I assume move the seat back into position after closing the door). - T

RESOLVED Tire buzz after replacing punctured/bubbled tires

My ten minutes of driving with the Tesla FSD beta enabled included it hugging the curb like a drunk and aiming straight at the corner cuts while attempting to turn left. So, no, we aren't close by a long shot. - T

RESOLVED Tire buzz after replacing punctured/bubbled tires

Update: Lucid Service in Millbrae replaced the front left and right wheel bearings and everything is back to normal with no “buzz”. As bonus, work was covered under warranty! In related news, a feature request: LIDAR pothole scanner… - T

RESOLVED Tire buzz after replacing punctured/bubbled tires

Update: finally got into the service center and went on a freeway drive with a service tech. Within five seconds of driving he said “damaged wheel bearings”. So I’m getting new front bearings in a couple of weeks… 21” wheels look great but are dicey on the moon-like roads of CA. - T

Interference from airport equipment and CarPlay

A quick skim of the ‘net suggests ILS or Doppler radar interference with Wi-Fi as potential culprits. As an experiment I might try using wired CarPlay on the next drive past. - T

    Soft Reset Procedures

I’ve read two different things in the forums: that the Pilot Panel reset is infotainment-only, and (implied by an earlier comment in this thread) that it is a full soft reset. If the latter, wouldn’t it be easier to use the Pilot Panel reset if stuck on the roadside? - T
