The Press Embargo Has Been Lifted

I've been trying to figure out why one of my favorite car review channels, "Throttle House", has been a no-show among the recent press reviews of the Gravity. They had done a very complimentary assessment of an early Gravity alpha prototype about a year ago and have consistently been big Lucid...

Steering wheel leather peeling anyone had this?

A lot of steering wheels had to be replaced due to the silver buttons inside the scrolling buttons on the wheels failing. Those were integral to the steering wheel, and the whole wheel had to go when they failed.

Steering wheel leather peeling anyone had this?

Do you have the Nappa leather or the Purluxe interior? I've never seen leather do anything like this before, but the Purluxe is a 2-layer material. Could this be the top layer detaching and stretching?

    GGT in the Seattle Studio!

Of all the aspects of car design, I have found personal takes on seating and interior room to be the most wildly variable. We've owned two Model S's since 2015 and have test driven Model X's several times trying to decide if switching to an X would give us the second-row room and comfort so...

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

It's great to see real deliveries actually happening. And particular congratulations to @HC_79 and @borski! But it's now down to work, boys. We need some driving reports. First, though, can you confirm a few things about the DEs: - Is the charge cable included? - What other accessories are...

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

On my account dashboard our Gravity still shows as “In Production” and still at software version 3.1.7, although some already have 3.2.0. However, I got a text about an hour ago from the SA saying it’s already in transit to Miami. Go figure what any of this means.

    Gravity Dream Edition in Miami

Congratulations. I was really hoping our GDE would be in the same shipment as yours. I'm an early Air Dream Edition owner, ordered a Gravity early on the morning orders opened, and switched to a Dream Edition the day those orders opened. And our configuration -- Aurora Green / Tahoe /...

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

3.2.0 was downloaded to some Gravities today . . . but not to ours.

    Gravity GT Supernova Bronze deliveries

This sounds logical in light of what we've been able to discern about order/delivery so far. It also sounds like a throwback to the days before the Japanese introduced us to more sophisticated ways to run production lines back in the late 1970's and 1980's.

    Software and Tech Opinions

You mean the profanity-laced one? I’ve done my share of complaining about Lucid, but I did learn to express myself with a wider array of adjectives and adverbs. That crude tone is actually what set me off about this thread from the get-go.

    Software and Tech Opinions

If you can say that about Lucid, you can say it about Microsoft, Apple, and a plethora of software companies whose security has been breached because of software oversights. Flawed software gets into the field from every company in the space. They do, in fact. And you should watch Kyle...

    Software and Tech Opinions

You were not just "stating facts". In making a categorical asserting that "Lucid doesn't know how to write good and reliable software", you were making a sweeping statement that ignores a wide array of facts relevant to a judgment of a company's software chops. If you look over some of my...

    Software and Tech Opinions

It is not a "fact". It is an absurd generalization. Our first Tesla was a 2015 Model S P90D -- a car that was produced at about the same point in Tesla's evolution as we are today in Lucid's evolution. And that Model S was plagued with software problems. It required frequent reboots, sensor...

    Software and Tech Opinions

How well did it work in your Tesla? Oh, wait . . . This sounds very much like the problems we had intermittently with the 2021 Model S Plaid we sold a couple of months ago. It would periodically go through stretches of several days when the car would not recognize the mobile key or the key...

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

So, regarding this June 18 software update on which all pending deliveries were supposedly waiting . . . has anyone seen it show up on their software dashboards? My most recent update remains 3.1.7 on June 12.

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

Let’s see if anyone reports seeing a software update beyond 3.1.7 on their software dashboard.

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

But I understood @borski to say that 3.1.7 was the final download before readying for shipment, and got that back on June 12?

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

I can't find the posts now, but there was some discussion about no Gravities leaving the factory for U.S. delivery until a June 18 software download was completed. Am I remembering correctly? What was the source of that information? What does it mean?

    OTA Update 2.7.0

Oops, I looked over the notes too quickly. Sorry if I sowed any confusion.

    OTA Update 2.7.0

Maybe I missed something. Where does it say for Sapphire only? But even so, to still be fine tuning what every reviewer says is the pinnacle of sedan performance in every dimension is notable. One of Peter Rawlinson’s lasting contributions to automotive history is the determination he built...
