    Gravity vs Model X

True but not everybody needs a true SUV. My father got one a few months ago because he's 91 years old, felt too old to wait for the Gravity, wanted more headroom so he didn't have to bend to get in, and wanted air suspension that could lower so my mom can get in more easily. He wanted summon so...

    Hunting wild Lucid Airs

I haven't been to NJ in seven years but at the time I noticed almost no EVs. Here I can't drive a block without seeing an EV, although I might see an average of only one Lucid (not counting my own) on any local trip in the 30-60 minute range.

    Hunting wild Lucid Airs

Wrong thread, but I did see my first wild Gravity on Tuesday. At this point, I can't make a trip of any significant length without seeing an Air.

    UX 2.5 OTA Update

Tesla got in big trouble for this. The backup camera is a required safety feature, so nhtsa said that a fix was needed and Tesla had to issue a recall. Although I'd like to see it fixed ASAP, I don't quite agree with nhtsa either. If a company is going to have a recall, they have 60 days to...

    UX 2.5 OTA Update

I don't expect Lucid to get it up to audiophile quality. A good audiophile system costs as much as or more than the car. But it would be nice if they went for accuracy. If people really want to play around with tone controls, that's fine. Lucid can add as many controls and adjustments as they...

    UX 2.5 OTA Update

Give us a toggle in the settings to choose between AU1 and AU3, and the problem is solved, unless there's some other problem that started manifesting itself on some vehicles after the update that can be fixed.

    UX 2.5 OTA Update

It's not just Atmos tracks. The very first thing I listened to after the update actually sounded better, and it was an instrumental piece, but after that I found that things are generally worse, especially if they have vocals. If anybody thinks this sounds better, then I invite Lucid to add a...

Confirmed: Android Auto coming this fall!

Lucid does not generally preannounce and AA is on the cusp of being available for the Air. It's very unlikely that they'd go through all the effort to design the software, and once they get it done, leave it off what they expect to be their best selling vehicle. They don't want to say that...

Hardwire your home charging station! Or use a Hubbel / Bryant / Cooper 14-50 receptacle, not Leviton

They may not be inherently defective but it's much easier to torque a Hubbell outlet properly with a hex wrench than it is to torque a Leviton with a flat blade screwdriver. Even if you think that the Leviton is properly torqued, moving the heavy wires to get it in the box can loosen them up...

    Gravity; SUV or Minivan

Back in the days when assembly line workers built a chassis and then bolted on panels such as fenders, the cost considerations were different. I don't know to what extent any given component was hand welded or bolted, but with robotics everything changes. Aside from the roof, there are no...

    Gravity; SUV or Minivan

Sliding doors can be convenient because it's not practical to have an opening that big with no door in the way when a door swings out. In real life, I rarely found it to be an issue, but if Lucid had the equivalent of Tesla's basic summon, which does nothing more than move a supervised car back...

    Stoplight moment

I have no problem with anybody holding any particular political views. I do have a problem with people expressing hatred, and I fully understand why people won't want to buy a product from a company that's represented by such a person. I hate to even call it politics since many of his divisive...

    Stoplight moment

I don't feel good about Elon, but Tesla still makes good cars. I still own one. I like the Lucid better though. When I got the Lucid, I wasn't thinking about getting a Tesla. I can't say how much of a factor Elon was, but he certainly didn't help matters. After test driving the Air, stepping...

    Gravity; SUV or Minivan

The whole SUV/minivan debate is pointless, because it doesn't matter what you call it. It's a crossover. In terms of form factor, it's closer in appearance to the original station wagons (that took people and luggage to and from train stations) than what people think of as station wagons today...

Gravity will be equipped with a NACS charging connector in 2025

Somebody was at the Union City CA Supercharger with a Gravity, and said that he was checking Superchargers for compatibility. https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/attachments/20241122_144911-jpg.1096823/

    UX 2.5 OTA Update

Yes, it's the hollowness that sounds off. And the navigation directions should sound like they are coming from somebody who is talking, not like somebody sitting behind a thin sounding microphone in a live room with lots of reflections. It doesn't sound in phase.

    UX 2.5 OTA Update

It is more substantial than I thought. Music sounded better, especially bass. But the navigation voice now sounds processed and not human. And the turn signal click sounds strange.

If I really wanted them, I probably wouldn't need a car.

Disappointing color choices - where's Zenith Red?

I agree but I think that it's true of the industry in general. The most popular car colors are white, black, gray and silver. A particularly fashionable color these days looks like gray primer, which is not far from what cars would have looked like decades ago if they never made it to the final...
