    LUCID Gravity Lease vs Finance

I've never leased a vehicle, always just purchased. For me, I can afford to pay cash, and so any form of financing makes the vehicle more expensive. I'm not sure my thinking is particularly sophisticated here, but I really only see two potential benefits to leasing: 1) If the interest rate...

    Should I order 5 or 7 seats?

I fall firmly into the 5 seats camp, and that's how I placed my order. My household is two adults and two dogs. With the 5 seat config, we already have 3 extra seats for passengers, which seems like plenty. We take a lot of road trips, and the 2nd row will be used for luggage much more...

    Choosing gravity GT vs DE

Does Conner have a lot of off road expertise? I'm struggling to imagine an off road situation where you could successfully put down ~1000HP through a single tire. For ICE vehicles with much lower HP and torque, this seems like a more legitimate desire.

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

So you're saying Gravity is just a faster electrified sheep?

    Test drive before 2H25.....maybe?

My prediction: Lucid isn't going to make the Gravity available to test drive until the media outlets they're currently giving access have a chance to publish their reviews. If we're starting a betting pool, I put money on April 23rd for test drives becoming available.

    Choosing gravity GT vs DE

The benefit of the quad motor isn't really power (though you do get that), but rather fully independent power delivery to the four wheels, which enables great optimizations for off-road driving. It really blows the traditional ICE 4WD power transmission out of the water.

Okay, I still choose the Air, but…

The first car I ever owned was a manual transmission Mazda 626, probably a '79, maybe '80. Man, that car was a hoot to drive. No real power, but even back then Mazda was building cars for people who liked to drive. The road feel through the steering wheel was quite good, and the handling was...

    400kW Gravity Charging!

This is one of the appeals of the Gravity GT's efficiency and long range. It's easier to plan around sparse charger availability, and a hotel with even a mediocre level-2 charger will get you back to 100% for the next day.

    Tire/Wheel Discussion

Yeah, there are a variety of satellite comms devices one could bring along. But even so, you could easily be sitting around for hours waiting for a tow truck to appear, so it's not just a question of money.

    Tire/Wheel Discussion

I can live with requiring a tow truck when I'm in densely populated areas. But with my Highlander I've lost a tire on a rocky unpaved road a good 45 minutes from the nearest town. If I didn't have a spare to swap in, I'd have had to wait, possibly for an hour or two, and hope someone driving...

    Gravity Release Timeline

No that I've seen, no. But that's not surprising given Lucid's statements about Gravity deliveries. I'm not expecting to hear about a delivery to a regular customer for about 3 more weeks, 2 more at the earliest.

    Tire/Wheel Discussion

Hearing Jason Cammisa talk with Derek Tam-Scott on The Carmudgeon Show about driving the Gravity and extolling the virtues of sidewalls reinforces my decision to go with the 20"/21" wheel combo. I'm not dismissing the performance offered by the Pirelli P Zeros. But for me, the need for that...

    My Biggest Concern with Gravity

If the sun isn't in your eyes, and the cabin isn't too hot, I certainly do think that the open spacious feeling of a glass roof seems great. Many years ago I drove a Jeep Wrangler, and it was often very nice traveling with the roof off. Obviously that's more exposed than a glass roof would be.

    My Biggest Concern with Gravity

I came close to buying an Air, and then decided to wait for the Gravity. But if I'd bought the Air, a metal roof was going to be my choice. I'm guessing the Gravity will also eventually be offered with a metal roof option. But I don't think I'm prepared to put off my purchase for yet more...

    My Biggest Concern with Gravity

I'd probably buy a metal roof if it was an option, but the lack isn't a deal breaker for me. I figured I'll buy the vehicle, and see what it's like before deciding if it's worth tinting or buying shades. I've never owned a glass roofed vehicle before, so I don't really know how to judge. Here...

    My Biggest Concern with Gravity

My philosophy is to not insure against things I can afford. I figured that insurance for little things just pads the pockets of the insurance company. So I'll insure a house. And while I suppose I can afford to lose the entire value of the Gravity, I'd probably insure the car as a whole. But...

    Test drive before 2H25.....maybe?

Well, that's disappointing. Still, the situation should change soon.

    My Biggest Concern with Gravity

For those who've seen a Gravity in person: how many panels of glass is the windshield/roof made up of? I assume it's not one giant continuous piece of glass, but I haven't seen a photo that makes it clear. I shudder to think what the cost of a replacing a chipped windshield would be if it...

    Test drive before 2H25.....maybe?

I've received an email from Lucid (sent yesterday) that Gravity test drives are now available at the Lucid Studio Meatpacking District in NYC. Hopefully this will rapidly become true at all other Lucid locations as well. I wouldn't be surprised if there's other locations that now have a...
