    Question on build quality.

I have definitely found “German reliability” to be a bit of a myth.

New Lucid paid for, was promised delivery but no communication from Lucid

Definitely not the best experience. In Lucid’s defense, Texas bows down to the car dealer’s lobby and makes it illegal for car manufacturers to sell directly to consumers. As a result Lucid is, by law, required to ensure the car is paid in full before it even enters the State. Sounds like Lucid...

Same here as that was the title of the post (vs “YTD”).

    Q3 ~ 3700

Looks like they didn’t have any inside info after all: off by 60+%. I don’t think this forum needs to be worried about legal action :)

Lucid Air for daily use as home battery?

Can’t you already do this with an F150 Lightning and the Ford EVSE?

Lucid hit piece from this forum

NY Post? I think Infowars is probably a better fit for him.

    Rivian Neutral Incident - Edmunds

That basement-blogger trying to pose as a legitimate news site is really the worst of the worst. Basically the automotive version of Infowars.

Hyundai now more efficient than Lucid?

Note that the range figures quoted are from the European WLTP test. EPA range tests tend to result in figures quite a bit less than WLTP. I don’t think Lucid has released any WLTP test results yet.

    NHTSA Recall Number NCR-22-02-0

Not necessarily - a “hooked bracket” type connection could place zero tensile force on the actual bond (whether that is a weld, adhesive or bolted connection) under towing. I still don’t think they would have used a structural adhesive though.

Out of Spec - Lots of Good Coverage

1% to to get up to 70mph from zero sounds pretty excessive. Thats 1.1kwh for just a few seconds of driving. Worst (least efficient) case would obviously be using max acceleration to get up to speed. Since max power output is 611kw, and duration for 0-70 would would be about 3 seconds (a guess...

    NHTSA Recall Number NCR-22-02-0

May be using “adhere”’in a very broad sense. Structural adhesives are used frequently in modern cars, but do not perform very well in tension. On the other hand I can see it being possible to configure a bracket-to-subframe attachment that wouldn’t result in tensile force on the “bond” under...

Out of Spec - Lots of Good Coverage

There is a thread in the software forum- a couple of owners have received it already. It definitely has autosteer (combined with the previously available adaptive cruise). Lane changes are manual.

Out of Spec - Lots of Good Coverage

Sounds like 2.0 has started rolling out, at least to a limited number of cars, with highway assist now!

Lucid is doing something good for Arizona community

High performance summer tires are louder than all-seasons I think. Even for ICE cars, above a certain speed most of the sound for passersby is tire noise, not engine noise. I think that’s why noisemakers are only mandated for EVs at low speeds (at higher speeds tire noise is audible to...

Out of Spec - Lots of Good Coverage

That could also be a double edged-sword though, no? It’s sounds like the next update will have pretty significant structural changes (to improve general performance and lag) in addition to adding missing features. Giving that to a reviewer before it’s fully de-bugged and release-ready might not...

Ford Raises F150 Lightning Prices Again

2nd price raise in pretty short order. Within 2 months the F150 Lightning base model has gone from under $40k to $52k (all other trims increased too). The sub-$40k Lightning has gone the way of the $35k Tesla Model 3 :). I’m pretty sure they were losing money hand over fist with the original...

Or maybe there should be an option to restrict downloading & uploading to only happen while car is charging.

    Bricked GMC Hummer

I think they made the situation unnecessarily more stressful by deciding to reboot the truck (when it was still working but showing error messages) while waiting at a traffic light… probably not SOP. What they had to go through to be able to get it out of park in the end was ridiculous though.

    A New Adventure Starts

Looks like your freeway efficiency pretty much exactly matched the Out-Of-Spec range test. Your comment on the initial downhill country road section leads me to wonder what efficiency would display if you were to start a trip at the top of a steep hill and end at the bottom (i.e. a lot of...

    trim issues

If you decline a car do they assign you another, or take it away, fix issues then redeliver? I know with Rivian if you decline your assigned VIN they cancel the order outright and you are back at square one placing a new order online.
