    Accelerator thunk

My wife likes the "hold" feature and I like the "roll" feature. When I drove the Air home from delivery the thunk was driving me crazy, so I get the OP's perspective, but its just a few buttons away from solved. I understand the mechanics of what is happening, but it does seem like a primitive...

Insurance premium is getting out of control

Try having (2) teen drivers on your policy. Your 6 month premium is less than our per month costs. Granted it's CA and I have a few cars, but still, its crazy. I'll add that the lowest premium is sometimes the lowest quality coverage, so we look for companies that will actually cover any...

Tired of lack of Android support

Android user here, but I largely gave up on the app as a reliable means to interact with the car. My wife is an iPhone user and primary driver and she too finds the app of low value, so we'll see if things improve for her. I'm just happy that the car usually unlocks when I walk up (with my...

NEW Wiring Harness Recall - Recent Air Pure

It’s just a joke, like the one that says American cars don’t handle corners. Defending either stereotype is a road to nowhere even with ample evidence to the contrary, and as such there is no reason to create an argument otherwise.

    Who wants a Sport Package?

I don't know, I think the Air is a perfect grand touring car, not a true sports car. Going to swift mode is all the sport package I need. I'm all for exceptional brakes, but with regenerative braking I hardly use the service brakes and they are quite capable as-is. Now I would be...

    Software Improvements and Features Suggestions

I (we?) do, but it takes more attention than the "no eyes needed" traditional stalk. In a steady rain, not a big deal, but in mixed conditions where its constantly changing, the auto setting is rubbish and it takes eyes off the road to find the right button.

    Software Improvements and Features Suggestions

💯 on the wiper selection, not well executed. My first car with "rain sense" wipers was maybe 2006 or so. It's every bit as good as it was back then, which is not very. Just like in 2006, in mixed rain they respond to the conditions 300 meters ago (or not at all) or go into full hysterics...

Looks great in coupe proportions, wow!

12 Months In, and I'm Out.

I try to stop myself when I associate the cost of a good and my expectation for it to work as intended. Plenty of experience with inexpensive items that are rock solid reliable and expensive items that are problematic. Expensive wine isn't always better than inexpensive wine. In other words...

    How often do you reboot?

My wife does a logo reset 1-2x a week (just last Saturday when I was driving). They are always related to some sort of audio issue including the HFL. '24 Air Pure built in May.

    Stoplight moment

I think other CEO's and leaders have figured out it's a lot easier to move product and get rich by not being polarizing, so it is odd that Elon let's it all hang out. On the other hand, he gets to have an opinion on the world and it's a shame that a person that holds different views is...

What does the group think of this?

Amazon requires some creative searching to find real quality. The site is a conduit of low quality items that market to the innate human desire to short cut and/or pay the lowest price. If someone makes a short, high-quality extension that would be sized right to minimize resistance and heat...

    Lucid Marketing Ideas and Thoughts

They don't need marketing, they need a product that more people want. The sedan market has been contracting for years making this a tough market for growth. Gravity has the potential to be organic marketing, provided that NACS is integrated/accessible, the UX is stable as granite, and the OTA...

    Nervous new Lucid AT owner

Tesla was also my first EV experience and I give the Air higher marks in almost every regard. In my opinion the delta between the 'fanboys and haters' around here is how we react to the software/UX issues that these cars have. When viewed through the first world lens, they a minor nuisance...

    UX 2.5 OTA Update

Again, you're missing my point, I don't care about XM either, but they "fixed" it back on 2.3.10 and for someone that spends as much time here as you, there is no way you didn't read posts about people that DO care about XM. Marginalizing others concerns and core functionality problems as "pet...

    UX 2.5 OTA Update

You might be amazed by my statement because you embellished it...I never said OTA hasn't improved the car since the dawn of the Air, I said since I've owned it (6 month or so) they have barely addressed the core issues that need fixing (XM is better). It's like someone with a leaking roof that...

    UX 2.5 OTA Update

Thanks for that @bakerjin , I'll give that a try when my wife comes home this evening. She is the primary driver 90% of the time and she is completely fed up with these software "quirks". None of the issues are reliable, but randomly pop up and require a logo reset or just wait until the next...

Would you still buy a Lucid Air living over 600 miles away of a service center?

Might be OK if you're retired or otherwise have a very flexible schedule, but if you have a typical 40+ hour work week that would be a no-go for me. This is not a bash on Lucid, this would apply for any car I own and I do my own maintenance.

Are the 2025 builds getting better?

'24 Pure with 5k miles. Frunk and trunk needed alignment but that has been the only issue (which in my opinion was a factory QC issue not a general quality issue). Service process was breeze. Which is "better" is subjective, but I think engineering and build quality is impressive.
