    Rear bumper TRIM replacement

😂 It was looking like my insurer was going to get to part with that much, and then I'd ultimately reimburse them with premium premiums... I'm sure they'll find some other basis for raising mine. Main thing for me is, I'm not a fan of this new local body shop, who's doesn't care what the customer...

    Body shop

Pacific was the shop that quoted me $8k for my rear bumper trim damage. I didn't use them -- instead I replaced the $700 part myself. They couldn't sell me just the part, but the service center did. Thread here. A buddy of mine (zenith red Touring) is living his own Bel-Red hassle: swirly paint...

Does Lucid sell my driving data to third-party for auto insurance purposes?

Same as Tim -- my LexisNexis report contains zero info about my Lucid other than auto policy info. (No mention of my Subaru and VW Alltrack vehicles either -- that may be because Subaru and/or VW don't sell the data to LexisNexis, or because I disconnected the telematics cellular antenna in the...

    Trip planning methods

I like your approach to use the estimate to inform driving style choice. There are a LOT of variables, that often vary along the entire route: - Temperature - Elevation - Precipitation - Road surface - Tire inflation - Cabin temp, defog - Driving style (acceleration, speed) For now, intuition...

    Rear bumper TRIM replacement

Last month our Air incurred a bad deep scuff in the rear bumper. Though 30" wide, the damage was 99% limited to the glossy black trim piece, below the body-colored bumper cover. This trim piece is the same on all Air models, and contains four object/motion sensors (LIDAR?) and two snap-in red...

    Air Pure DC Fast Charging

I usually see 156-174 kW early in the charging process at EA's 350 kW chargers but also their 150 kW chargers go above 150 kW sometimes. 2023 Pure. 26% is the lowest state of charge I've ever been down to. Takes ~30 minutes to get back up above 80-85%, fine by me.

High Voltage Coolant Heater recall OTA update, estimated 1% of 2000 vehicles affected

Yes they were all lent out. My friend has had a GT on loan from them too.

High Voltage Coolant Heater recall OTA update, estimated 1% of 2000 vehicles affected

(July 2023 Pure AWD, serial #6,249) I hit this issue last Saturday in the mountains here in Washington, at the start of a 4-1/2 hour drive back to Seattle. Cold air coming out the vents. The fogging was only an issue after I was done recharging (sixth perfect EA experience) -- got in with my hot...

    Seattle Northwet

Inaugural post: I ordered my Air Pure AWD online in April 2022, then University Village replaced the Microsoft Store with a Lucid dealership, then I took delivery in July 2023. I've had four EA charging episodes that all went swimingly -- two in Leavenworth. Two more in British Columbia -- BC...

State Farm and other major insurance companies in CA raise auto and home rates for 2024

My auto policy renews 2/1 -- premium for my Lucid did not go up, ~$1,300 for six months. Progressive, Seattle, four drivers two under 25 years old, clean no claims for decades, discount for house & motorcycle policies with them too.

Odd behavior - speed limit display

The thing I noticed is that your left-hand lane-keeping assist is flashing red at the same time, so I'm guessing the speed limit indicator is doing that to reinforce what the lane-keeping assist is telling you, it thinks you're too close to the left lane edge... Might be wrong but that seems...

Winter driving observations from a newbie

"I didn’t have much of an issue with loss of sensors (just the Lidar sensor for a few minutes, which cleared up by itself)." This is so far my only weather effect on my winter Lucid driving experience. In weather like that I seldom mind my adaptive cruise deactivating because I have to pay...

    Stuck Frunk

Same with mine -- holding one longish press on the fob did nothing, after it was in this stuck mode. Before getting stuck, the original pilot panel tap to open it did indeed unlatch it, sound, popped up ~1cm, then stuck there durably until Customer Care remotely un-stuck it.

    Stuck Frunk

Yes, Pure, delivered July 15th. I'm optimistic they'll either find a firmware way to avoid the stuck state and/or give us a remedy to unlatch it ourselves, via the pilot panel... something like "We noticed the frunk lid may be stuck, and you're parked -- tap here to unlatch it." Not ideal but...

    Stuck Frunk

Thanks to this thread I tried calling Customer Care -- they were yes able to remotely release the hood, after which it closed fine -- no tow! Awesome! I then exercised it all again, release, open close perfectly. So maybe transient problem I won't see again, but maybe odds of future fail are not...

    Stuck Frunk

This started happening to me today. Pure. I took delivery on July 15th. It will let me drive it up to 13 mph, with the ominous warning sound every two seconds. Not going to drive the 8 miles to the service center here in Seattle. A third-party towing company will come get the car from me tomorrow.

Post your mi/kWh efficiency in inclement weather

Road-tripping in our Lucids: The larger batteries won't ever give me the full 410 spec range, but... I wouldn't want to do it any vehicle with less range, smaller batteries, which is >90% of them. I love how that still relatively big range gives me options when to charge en route. Every time I...

Post your mi/kWh efficiency in inclement weather

Agree about how challenging it can be right now, too much for a lot of people. We're part of the demand and revenue needed right now to drive the improvements. The huge $5B federal program's gears are turning (NYT article), should bloom next year. There are other charging networks. It's better...

    EA Charging Issues

I thought through this exact tradeoff earlier today on a 245-mile trip over a 4,600' mountain pass. I started with 83% charge, and at the halfway point reached the charger with 43% charge. The deeper you go into your charge (lower % when you charge), the higher power the car will pull. Mine...
