    Aftermarket Wheel Swap?

The picture in the previous post is a 265 tire on a Tesla wheel mounted to the front of an Air GT. We didn’t see any caliper clearance problems but fender liner clearance was pretty tight.

    Aftermarket Wheel Swap?

The 295 in the rear will poke out and rub if the standard alignment specs are followed. The 265 up front will be very close and will likely require the fender liner to be tighter against the wheel well.

    Wheels ordered ...

Some lessons learned ... a) front set up is at the limit because right side tire rubs the fender liner slightly at one location .. and only while backing up. I'm pretty sure I can fix that by making sure the right fender liner is snug against the wheel well. b) The rears will rub slightly...

    Towing properly/owner's manual and mistakes?

As of v 2.3.10, tow truck mode is not available. I learned this after trying to figure out the best way to keep my car in neutral and keep the shock & tilt notification / alarm off.

    Hunting wild Lucid Airs

    Wheels ordered ...

The wheels are 29 pounds without tires. The fronts are 9.5” wide and the rears are 10”wide so I guess the difference in barrel weights are negligible. Also interestingly … 58 pounds with either the 265 or 285 wide tires installed. I’m very curious to see how the tire to fender gap looks...

Lucid Combined Home Charging System Installation tips!

This is actually a great idea. I think even Apple devices learn how to optimize charging overnight. But having an option to quick charge the car at home would be great on the connected charger.

NEMA 14-50 Outlet vs. Home Charging Station: Which to Choose?

This is basic info for most of you but I thought I’d throw this out there as a PSA. The choice of outlet installed is the first line of defense for what is allowed to be attached. So keep in mind that whatever outlet is installed, it is “sized’ correctly for the circuit it is installed on...

Faster Chip Available for Retrofitting in the Air?

That's the way I see it as well, it's probably not something covered under warranty (unless the existing chip fails). And it will probably not be something worth upgrading out of pocket either.

NEMA 14-50 Outlet vs. Home Charging Station: Which to Choose?

I’m also using an existing 14-30 outlet with the mobile charger right now until V2H is implemented. No point paying for the charging station and a panel upgrade that only does the same thing at the moment … which is provide an 80% charged car in the morning. Keep in mind that a 14-30 won’t...

Locking doors with Keep Mode after re-entering

Your concern makes sense depending on your situation. One possible hack for now might be to shut off Keep Mode remotely via app before walking to your car?

    Regenerative braking and range

Interesting video clip I saw demonstrating tow charging an EV. Since the Air has better mi/kWh, can it recover more during regen braking?

    New Air GT-P Owner here

Yes … I’m sure that’s why GT-P production ended so fast… to keep the DE’s “special”. Plus Sapphire was right around the corner. But I can’t say for sure it was the strategy to take because even though the DE’s are serial numbered, the GT-P ended up being even more rare than the DE. I guess...

    New Air GT-P Owner here

The OPs YouTube video touched on suspension tweaks and other bits so I was curious. I also wouldn’t be surprised if both the GT-P and the DE both exceeded 1,111 Hp. Anybody have access to a Dyno? ;) I just learned now that the GT-P stickered for more than the DE.

    New Air GT-P Owner here

Congratulations on such a rare find! It was obviously not available on the online configurator. Did it just show up as available to your SA? If so, that was what happened to me last December. My first intent was the Touring, but I upgraded since they stumbled upon a new, non-demonstrator ZR...
