Anyone else encounter a strange tear in seat upholstery?

I wasn't commenting on the quality or thickness of Lucid's "PurLuxe leather alternative".

I am an old man and I even went to Gilda Radner's one woman show on Broadway (she actually had one other performer...Don Novello as Father Sarducci) as I was living in the City at the time. She was magnificent. It was truly tragic that she died so young from cancer. But, as Roseanne...

Anyone else encounter a strange tear in seat upholstery?

Purluxe is NOT leather. It is a synthetic material that is designed to mimic leather. One can argue about the quality of different leathers and synthetic alternatives but Lucid offers leather seats and Purluxe seats, not Purluxe leather seats.

Lucid CEO teases mid-size in development

I think the Polestar 3 looks very good from the outside. Then, one day, I went in and took a look at the inside. Everything on the screen to the side of the driver. Not for me. I want buttons and switches for things I tend to adjust or want to adjust while driving. The Gravity is about the...

Think Lucid Will Ever Offer Power Upgrades?

I do notice that the motor on display at the Scottsdale Design Studio shows a very large range of power so it seems likely that Lucid could do that. But "could" and "would" are separated by a large number of other letters.

"Announced CEO transition..." Rawlinson out as CEO

Give it time. I would wager that you are not alone in this regard and what will eventually happen is that it will become an acceptable use of the word. My favorite such word is "man". It originally mean either sex and morphed into only one. Now...I suspect...it may be going back ala "actor".

Sadly saying goodbye to my Lucid

Considering that you live by the longest parking lot in the world (aka the Long Island Expressway) that is an easy choice! 😁 But you and the OP are, IMO, correct. At a certain congestion point it becomes almost impossible to maintain the roads. One of the reasons why I sold my car before...

Key Fob Battery Low - I Don't use it

I don't know about why you are losing charge but I would be cautious about exclusively using the mobile key. Phones have been known to fail, get dropped and broken, etc. If you have it on a watch as well, then you already have a backup.

    Jaguar (copy nothing) prototype EV?

I think it looks more like a Cadillac sedan or a Chrysler 300 https://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/08/automobiles/autoreviews/08WHEEL.html

I see you were at GE. A law school classmate of mine, Ben Heineman, was formerly Senior VP General Counsel there. An interesting aside on that: our entering class was 165 students, only 6 were women and at least two of them became law professors. One of them had to sue the University of...

    Soft close doors add on

I have owned cars with soft close doors and without them. One quickly becomes accustomed to either (at least I did).

    J1772 emulation for V2L?

No...you are not missing something. What you want to do is the very definition of V2H. In my case, we rarely have power outages and when they do, they don't last long. So I bought a couple of 50 foot extension cords that will run from my kitchen to the garage (low gauge to handle the power)...

    J1772 emulation for V2L?

If Lucid sets up V2L there is no need for any of that. You will simply be plugging the appliance into the car. At that point neither is being plugged into the network so no need for any of that.

    J1772 emulation for V2L?

V2L. It is much simpler than V2H and does not need to be isolated.

    Lucid Marketing Ideas and Thoughts

One thought that I have had. Lucid owners tend to be at the upper end of wealth if only because of the cost of the vehicles. Lucid could purchase rugby type shirts (i.e., golf shirts) with the Lucid name and Logo for a pittance in volume purchases and give a couple away to every...

So it finally happened - my first stranded / tow truck service call.

Great move by Lucid. Most car companies try to provide loaners that are a little less than the car they are servicing. I think that is a lost marketing opportunity. Give the driver of a Pure a taste of a Grand Touring and you might be generating a nice sale in a couple of years. I have...

Tesla Cyber Truck - the Ford Pinto of EV's??!!

That is hilarious. Thank you! I walk by the Tesla store in the Scottsdale Fashion Square frequently. It is always pretty dark in there with three vehicles on the floor. One of the three is the cyberbeast and it is all the way in the back so one doesn't see it unless one comes in and walks...

    All Season Tires/Wheels

Good report. Thanks. I know that the Pilot Sport A/S tires perform well in ordinary weather but I didn't know how well they would handle snow and other bad winter conditions. Your report suggests that they handle it very well.

Four Seasons and Lucid Team Up to Offer Guests Sustainable Driving Experiences

It is also a great way for a buyer who is on the fence to have an extended test drive. A number of years ago, when I was driving BMWs, I found a car rental company called "Silvercar". It rented only loaded Audi cars and SUVs. At the time I thought it was a great concept as one could drive...
