Open letter to Lucid after 29 months of ownership

Saw this in the mall near the Lucid showroom the other day on a tee shirt: " He said techno or me sometimes I miss him".

Would you still buy a Lucid Air living over 600 miles away of a service center?

Many states have these (including Arizona). They are often called "drive out" plates.

Open letter to Lucid after 7 months of ownership

I don't think I agree. I think the Lucid Air in its more basic form is in competition to the BMW I5, the Mercedes EQE, etc. While it originally was priced above the competition, I think it is now absolutely competitive in price with those luxury marques. In its more expansive form (AT...

Open letter to Lucid after 7 months of ownership

That was the frustration to me. After two years on the waiting list for a RWD Pure, I still didn't know how the vehicle would be configured, what options would be on it and/or available, etc. Good communications and transparency are key to long term success. I was willing to put up with the...

Out of Spec - Gravity vs Escalade

My Genesis GV60Performance came with the Primacy Tour A/S tires. I hated them. I could just feel them letting loose around tight corners. I finally bit the bullet and replaced all four with Pilot Sport 4S tires and now the vehicle feels totally planted. The Primacy tires are good for wear...

    Heat Pump Technology

In the Scottsdale Fashion Mall where Lucid has its Phoenix area showroom, Tesla also has a showroom and the Tesla showroom has its heat pump on display in the window. It is a much more substantial unit.

    Sentry Mode

I think that lane splitting is a truly stupid concept. I hate being behind a motorcyclist because as pointed out here, a simple brush off from your car and he is toast but it would have been a very minor accident if he was in a vehicle. I am not arguing against motorcyclists. I am just...

Out of Spec - Gravity vs Escalade

Chevrolet Cadillac Cavalier. https://www.motortrend.com/news/cadillac-cimarron-history-worst-ever/ Definitely brings back memories.

Can you haul a 4'x8' sheet of drywall?

The Air, and many EVs, don't allow one to drive unless the trunk/hatch is closed. That makes no sense to me, especially on an SUV. Do we know if the Gravity will allow one to drive with the hatch unlatched?

    Wake up fool!!!

Many of you don't know how fortunate you are to have @mcr16. Most forums for luxury cars either don't have anyone monitoring the forum or, if they do, do it secretly. Having someone from corporate not only monitoring the forum but stepping in and occasionally acting like an ombudsman is a...

    Headlights (Oncoming Traffic High Beaming)

I think road conditions can also make a difference. Recently, my area has been inundated with "speed humps" on residential streets. My guess is that if someone hits one of these while a car is approaching from the other direction, that would make it appear that the driver was using his brights.

Lane centering when moving over for Bicyclists or Walkers

I went to college west of Boston and worked in Cambridge and your standard is very low. As I recall, a sidewalk is a traffic lane opportunity and the breakdown lane on Route 128 becomes a traffic lane during rush hour. :p Out here the aesthetic is to drive slowly in the left lane of a...

Lane centering when moving over for Bicyclists or Walkers

Why? I signal when I am going to swerve out of my lane to make room for a bicyclist specifically to let any cars behind me know what I am doing.

Highway assist struggles at cross roads and on/off ramps

My 2018 BMW 530e had this issue as well. I occasionally see this happening but much less so in my 2023 GV60P. I believe @DeaneG is correct.

First pre-production Gravity reviews are coming in

Before I retired I had a colleague who decided it was time to trade in his BMWS X5. He told me that he had decided to replace it with a minivan. I told him it would steal his soul. He told me I was wrong because the minivan was going to his spouse, he was getting an Aston. We are a community...

    Nervous new Lucid AT owner

Yes...yes...yes! There are times in heavy traffic where it is nice to let the car essentially and mostly drive itself. But most of the time I want to drive, not be driven. If I want the latter, out here we have Waymo :D or I could get a Nissan Leaf really cheaply.

Are We Asking the Wrong Question About Charging?

Yes. Typically, BMWs deliver stated horsepower at the wheel, not at the crank where everyone else gets their data. Most cars lose 10-15% of their HP between the crank and the wheels. I always preferred the under promise approach.

    Rear-ended by a 100MPH drunk driver

Wow. The Lucid certainly did its job. I have a friend who hit a black ice spot in his Porsche 911 and he said it saved his life. The car was totaled and he immediately went out and bought another. If your car is totaled, I assume you will do likewise with your Lucid. Did the trooper arrest...

Are We Asking the Wrong Question About Charging?

There are many issues that do, or at least should, factor into one's decision to purchase an EV. Range, speed of charging, handling, power, size, cost, design and service are all basic issues. Then add in HUDs, buttons and switches vs "minimalist" interior design, luxury materials and...

Lucid sold me a damaged GT without disclosing

I agree. You purchased a vehicle that had been used for 6,000 miles. Did you really expect it to be pristine like a new car? Most car companies would have ignored the OP. Lucid has IMO gone the extra mile for the OP.
