Lucid Party @ Gravity Reveal-LA AutoShow November, 2023?

Likely going to reserve day one. Assuming similar prices to the Air (plus a small premium) we will reserve a Grand Touring equivalent. If the prices are a lot higher, then a Touring. Ideally they will have a stealth option, leasing, and trade-ins for launch. Lack of any of these could cause us...

Lucid Party @ Gravity Reveal-LA AutoShow November, 2023?

Damn! That looks really good. Almost a Range Rover Velar vibe.

Lucid Party @ Gravity Reveal-LA AutoShow November, 2023?

Notice how the cover over the cup holders is semi-transparent. Almost like glass.

    Speculation Lucid-Volvo service agreement?

I owned an Aston Martin, and while I loved the car the service was terrible. The local (70 miles away) Aston Dealer was part of a much bigger dealership. They only had one Aston certified tech and it was a nightmare trying to schedule any service in a reasonable amount of time. They also didn't...

    Vehicle to Home

V2L (vehicle to load) should be possible now. It's basically the same as V2V but with an outlet at the other end of the plug. This isn't as nice as V2H, but it would allow you to power several appliances during a power outage, or power small appliances on the road. Our Ioniq has a V2L plug...

Floor mats in GT Santa Cruz interior

We did the same. We started with the ceramic colored floor mats and they showed dirt and foot prints. Ordered the graphite next and they work great. They match the front seat color.

    Speculation Lucid-Volvo service agreement?

Seems really smart. Why spend all the money to build out service centers when you can basically outsource it to another automaker. Volvo at least is a luxury-ish brand which would hopefully provide a good service experience.

    Bike Mounts and Crossbars

I want a tow hitch on the Gravity for bikes, and a roof rack for a ski box. I really hope Lucid comes up with a solid solution for the Gravity. Otherwise it could be a deal breaker. They just need to work with Yakima or Thule and develop a solution. Every other OEM simply works with them and...

    Hello, and...goodbye?

As others have stated, headwinds can make a significant difference. Regardless, Texas is a charging desert. It would be tough to own an EV and regularly travel throughout the state. You're not going to find another EV with more range. The Lucid Air is simply the best. So unfortunately if this...

    Hello from Phx

Congratulations! You'll love the Air GT. We have an EQS SUV and an Air Touring. While the EQS is very nice and more luxurious, the Air is a much better vehicle. Particularly Mercedes has done a poor job of packaging the vehicle (no front truck) and poor driving dynamics. I've been amazed how...

    Sliding door gravity?

I just noticed this on Lucid's website. It appears to be a door handle on the second row door, most likely for a standard door. Typically sliding doors have the door handle towards the front.

    LCID stock

Outside of Aston, there aren't a lot of small independent automotive companies anymore. Most of the luxury brands are owned by big conglomerates. Honestly, I could see Lexus or Acura partnering with Lucid. I know Toyota has been making a lot of claims around battery technology, and...

PIF increases stake in Aston Martin

Understood, but I see the PIF as much more of a passive investor compared to a manufacturing parent company like Geely. Ultimately this may not be very different and could be better for Lucid I guess.

PIF increases stake in Aston Martin

Wonder if Aston and Lucid could end up under a common parent company in the future. Look at Geely for example. They own Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, and Zeeker. Many Westerners criticize these companies because they are owned by a Chinese parent, however they are releasing some top notch EV...

    Engineering Explained Sapphire Video

In my opinion Lucid also needs to pitch the Air as a competitor to the Taycan, M5, RS6/7, not the S Class, A8, EQS, or i7. It's not a boring executive luxury sedan. It's a drivers car. They do seem to be getting to this point with the Sapphire finally.

    Engineering Explained Sapphire Video

Yep. I previously owned a Taycan Turbo S. People (especially Porsche fans) don't believe me when I tell them my Touring is every bit as good as the Turbo S in terms of driving dynamics. My Turbo S had better brakes (carbon ceramics), but everything else the Touring does equal or better for...
