Well, VW just put $ in Rivian. Rivian might just be outsourced to do VW software in the future as extra revenue stream.

I much prefer Polestar2 Google instrument cluster 3D map or Rivian’s topographical big landscape screen map. On the other hand, I much prefer Lucid ride quality over Polestar2 and Rivian R1S.

They said that the same about CyberTruck with towing reduced range to unusable, but that didn’t stop people not getting it. Some just buy for fashion statement. And not all soccer moms do road trips.

I actually know couple people will go for their first EV transition if VW makes this minivan.

Imo, this ID Buzz will sell very well, the aesthetic of it appear to many soccer moms and new born families. it may not appeal to sedan type crowd here as much.

Somewhere I read Taiwan already beats Toyota in solid states battery R&D. And production is coming in near future as manufacturing plant is currently in work. But I couldn’t find that article at the moment.

I have similar experience couple times, but I used Apple Map as back to resolve that issue.

You can use Google Map side by side with Apple CarPlay Map in Polestar2. I like it. But I don’t like portrait orientation of the infotainment screen, at least it is close to eye level to the road. However, Polestar4 makes infotainment in landscape orientation, it is much better design imo.

I like my Air GT driving dynamic; on the other hand, I like Polestar2 dashboard with 3D mapping graphic more.

Last 2 weeks I was in Japan. In my experience , I saw more Porsches Taycan in Tokyo than Tesla which I was puzzled. I guess Japanese loves German engineering. I’ve seen quite a bit MB EQS as well.
